I need to homeschool my son NOW

I was wondering if someone can answer my question.  I live in Florida and I know about the letter of intent that I have to submit to the superintendent, I was just wondering if that's all I have to do to get started.  How do I go about taking him out of his school.  I don't want them giving me a hasle about this.  Are there other ways to go about it, I mean can I just write a letter to the principal stating that my son will no longer be enrolled in that school without having to give them any explanations.  My son has dyslexia and has an I.E.P.  So far they haven't helped him much and he is still not reading at his grade level.  It's been really tough for him this year.  I am exhausted and my son is overwhelmed.  All they've been doing lately is pushing him really hard so that he's prepared for the FCAT which of course he isn't.  Can anyone answer this for me.  Thank you so much.

Here is a link to the homeschool law in Flordia. Looks like there are 3 options but one of them requires you to be certified but there are two other options for you to look through. I hope it helps. http://www.hslda.org/laws/analysis/Florida.pdf

well, i happen to be a certified teacher learning about this approach my self. I was under the impression by the fl website that all that is required from you is a letter of intent sent to both school and dept. of education. You will also have to keep a portfolio of work samples and conduct an annual assessment by a psychologist to determine progress. I know of 2 teachers in need of work and willing to provide these services. Should you take the approach to higher someone else then it would be an agreement between you and the tutor to home school your child. Please keep in mind that the child does not have to receive these services at home. They can be received at an office or established center......let me know and i will proceed to contact you with info...
