Do you agree with homework over the summer?

I think that summertime is about getting away from the classroom and academics, not away from the learning. I think that kids should get "homework" in the form of projects and places to explore. A required nature hike, visit to an historic site, etc.

Unless the child is behind, homework over the summer is unnecessary. It can even cause children to dislike school even more if they feel like they don't get a break. Let them be kids and enjoy the summer.

Well maybe not homework, but I think children should read at least 6-8 books during the summer!

yes i agree that teachers should give kids homework over the summer. it allows children to review the things they already learned.

I think reading as an activity makes sense for children, but time to be allowed to pretend play and explore is important too. Trips with parents and summer camps should also be integral to summer learning.

I don't think homework is necessary for grades K-3rd. I think play, family time, creativity, and outings/trips are more important to the new environment of classroom/structured learnig. Homework will be throughout the years to come. Give a break K-3

yes because usalyy kids forget have of what they learned during the yea over the summer so if they have something to remind them once in a while the teachers wont have to refresh their memory for 3 months in the begining of the school year
