I think a list of 2-3 books to read over the summer is great!

NO... NO... NO... Children should be free during summer AND Winter Break AND Spring Break. Only a mere review of basic math facts and reading books. Parents need a break! Let them be kids!

Americans only put too much pressure to succeed on High School athletes. Academically, lack of effort is broadly acceptable. Individual parents may pressure their kids too much, but it is not a national trait.

Yes I sure do agree with HOMEWORK in the summer. I think it would be the best thing for kids.Maybe not all summer but at least two minthes of it.It would keep the kids out of trouble and not so board.

Homework would really work out for children. Children who are doing poorly in their academic grades should be given homework over weekends and the summer, so that they would learn and be ready for the next grade their going to.

No. I am a teacher and a mom and I believe kids just need a break. They have their adult lives when they have to work year round. Give them this time to be kids.

NO! NO! And did I say, NO?! Parents need a break from homework supervision too, you know. A reading list is a good thing to work on, but required homework...NO! Please no.

i think a little homework will remind them of all that they did in the previous year and keep them refreshed for the new school year.

I already enrich in the summer with trips, various enrichment, and I don't need the added headache. I don't mind reading for reading's sake, but I hate reading lists and essays that come home in older grades. It just adds to the work load.
