I wish our school would assign assignments over the summer. My kids attend some academic camps, but they are hard to find.

Absolutely. It only takes about 45 minutes per day to do some workbook pages and read a little. Then the whole rest of the day is fun, free time. It helps them to be prepared for the next school year.

Yes, to some degree because it will allow them to hit the ground running in their new grade versus having to spend time catching up.
