More then one hour of homework per night, is simply too much for elementary school children. They are being burned out and cannot retain the amount of material that is given on a daily basis. Children need downtime and time to explore.

No more than a hour long, Children need time for new books. They also need to enjoy being kids.

When the homework causes anxiety, or if the child has no idea how to do it. That means that the teachers have not made sure that the child understands the concept. Homework is suppose to be a review of the day's learning, not new learning.

especially with the" no child left behind act" courtesy of our previous presidents' judgement, kids are deemed to be kept at 25 percentile learning capabilities just so some few don't get left behind while all the others have to compromise at just 25%

honestly as a student spending most of her PK-Highschool outside of the US, not any amount of current homework given to students here is enough. The studens are often not challenged enough to their true level of capabilities on average.

Oh my why did it post so many times:/ lol anyway I was saying -- how well they did it and if they are doing significantly less than they should they should get help on improving and if they are doing too much perhaps a bit harder work such as gate:)

I think there should be a time limit on the home work rather than a set amount because some kids take longer and some quicker. This way the homework is based on the capabilities of the child. The grading should be based on what they did and how well
