Relocating to Pittsburgh Area and looking for local insight.

I am currently going through the negotiation phase with my employer on my relocation to the Greater Pittsburgh Area. My wife and I recently visited the area and have targeted a few areas that would fit our needs for relocation. Following our trip we targeted North Allegheny, Hampton, Pine-Richland and Mars School Districts as the top of our list. My boys are currently in K-4 and 2nd Grade and would be relocating to start at their new school(s) in the fall. Any information, opinions, perspectives that I might not get from the standard internet blogs and forums would be greatly appreciated.

Hi otter119, and welcome to GreatSchools Parent Community.

Here's an article that will help you with ideas to narrow down the search: http://www.greatschools.org/find-a-school/moving/3986-choosing-a-school-from-a-distance.gs

Also don't be afraid to talk to a real estate professional in the area. They're a great source of information on commute times, amenities in the community (parks, shopping), and they know which neighborhoods are sought after for their schools.

Good luck, and let us know what you find out.
