The school as a whole is a great place for your children to learn. There are some awesome teachers that really take the time with each child. The administration, however, leaves much to be desired. The principal is very marginalizing. She is on a mission to limit access that parents have to the school. If you are not on her good side, you will definitely be ousted from the school. Please do not think that any of your personal information will not be shared with other parents and staff that should have no business knowing it, because there are definitely problems with the principal shring private personal information with others.

Barretts has been everything you could want for you childern. The Principal is awesome, sets the bar high for all the teachers and they work hard to educate our kids. It's the best kept secret in Shelby County and far exceeds many of the surronding private schools. If your kids have an opportunity to attend Barretts, you won't be disappointed. Just make a visit, once you meet the staff (lead by a top knock Principal) review the results, observe the environment and culture, you will be sold on taking advantage of this great school.

I love this school because it is obvious that the children are so important. The parents are really involved from PTA to classroom events to sports events. The classrooms sizes are small allowing teachers to give the students more one on one attention. Everyone knows one another.

This school is often referred to as 'the county's best kept secret' and it is so don't tell anyone! We have the most amazing principal, teachers, parents and students! I can't say enough about the leardership. She is a second year principal who is a people/kid person! The parental involvement is out of this world! Acts like a private setting without the cost!

Who wld think this is a public school. Our school has the best administration. Education is top notch. When I drop my kids off I never worry about them learning or safety. We cld not be happier. Our 2nd child will be graduating this yr and our 3rd child has 4 yrs left. When he leaves not only will I be sad about him growing up but I will be leaving great friends. This school accepts every1. Why pay for private when your child can receive a private if not better education for free.

BEST school in Shelby County. Our (3) children are blessed to be in the hands of such dedicated teachers. The administraition is excellent. This is the Hidden GEM in Shelby County. I would dare say this may be the best school in the state. PTA is very active and supportive of the school, teachers and students. Thanks to all that make this a wonderful learning environment. BARRET'S ROCKS!

This school used to be wonderful. The leadership has changed. The leadership came from another school district that has a long long history of highly questionable workings. They are still under the mental working of the school district that they came from and it is not working for this small community, high parental envolvement school. It is one of the reasons that we have decided to leave the community. It is so sad that someone can come into such an uplifting and positive environment and force their condesending and negative ways on a school that does not need to be changed. You should not try to fix something that is not broken. From a very disappointed parent.
