I graduated from HCHS 20 years ago and now I have two chldren within the Hickman County school system after transferring them from Georgia. My experience at HCHS was breif and unremarkable, then I graduated. My children seem to be adapting well and maintaining their honor roll status. My children report to me that the extracurricular activies offered and the academic curriculum appear to be superior to that of the school system they transferred from down here in Georgia. Unfortunately I am reminded of the inner workings of schools in a 'small town' in that it is not unlike the inner workings at the courthouse and/or the mayor's office in Centerville, a 'small town'. If you can navigate the politically treacherous waters you will do well.

Very Good School, but too much politics play a part in the overall scope of the schools. The Director of the Hickman County Schools is not a good leader, he allows politics to take a part in all his decisions in the Schools, this does not and he should not represent/reflect the good people in the County. Sports are poor, all positions should be earned not given, those in HCHS basketball should know what I mean.( Most teachers are Great (not grate?) If they (School board) start doing things for the right reasons instead of personal gain, and political/rival favors they will be on top.

The greatest thing about this school is the students' involvement with the other students. Seeing the mass of students support all sports from football and basketball, to sports such as tennis and softball.
