Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

This school Berean is not a school that adequately prepares kids for college. The graduating class of 2014 mostly is going to community college(Chatt State) or no college at all. I know of other graduates working as waiters or labor at plants. Not something you expect for an education that you pay for. They lack basic facilities for sports, science, and computers. They are nice people and teach bible verses but their poor curriculum and limited resources and facilities are more detrimental than helpful to the success of the kids.

Berean Academy is a school that cares about their students. They are praying for them during the school day and they pray from the students and the teachers at their services. When there is a student in need of help, the teachers are there for them and their family. I am grateful that our family has found this church and school.

My children have been attending Berean Academy for three years now. Berean has been such a blessing to our family! I have been impressed with the curriculum at Berean, and I feel that my children are receiving a quality education. In addition, I love the fact that they are in a Christian environment where the word of God is not only taught but exhibited in the actions of the faculty and staff of Berean. My children love to go to school, and I know that they are in good hands while they are there.

Our daughter is graduating this year with a 3.91 gpa . She is a member of the honor society. She has attended Berean all 12 years. Her teachers know both parents by name, there is excellent parent-teacher communication. Teachers at Berean care deeply about their students and show it constantly. She has had so much fun with many school activities. The students even enjoy socializing with the principle! We feel that our daughter has received the best education possible and is an extremely well rounded person with the influences of Berean Academy.

I am a graduate of Berean Academy, and now my children attend this school. The teachers and principle communicate well with us through email, phone calls, notes, and in person. Their grades have increased since attending this school and the cost affordable even with multiple children. The value of their education at Berean has been one of the best choices we have made.

We've had our son at Berean for 3 years now. After completing first grade, testing showed that he was reading on a sixth grade level. Thier excellerated reading program has exceeded our expectations. He enjoys his teachers and classmates in an environment that is well structured and geared toward learning.

We have been involved with Berean for several years now, and I could not be happier with all they offer and the direction they are going. My children have attended there for 6 years. I love the dedication of the teachers and staff to God and to the kids. I am extremely thankful to God for Berean and would recommend it to anyone.

Berean Academy is a great school! My kids are very happy here and Mr. Harmon has made so many great changes to make this school even better. The staff are so kind and loving and take the time out to really focus on my kids. Just last month parents were given the opportunity to participate in a survey and immediately Mr. Harmon noticed a place of improvement and is already underway to get the ball rolling. When my husband was getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan and my grandfather was dying of cancer at the same time, I received so much support and encouragement from everyone. I love this school and my kids will continue to attend Berean until they graduate . I want my kids to have an excellent education but I also want them to be surrounded by a great influence of Christan fellowship and at Berean they get the best of both!

My child has been with Berean Academy from kindergarden through 1st grade. So far the school meets my expectations for spiritual growth, great professional teachers, wonderful new administrator and excellent teaching curriculum. I have total confidence and trust in the Lord that from here on out Berean will rise above all others and be the preferred school for your precious children. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding".

FYI this website, either by the school admin or the site itself has deleted a very sincere and honest review of this school that does not reflect a positive opinion of this school by a parent. I do NOT suggest you entrust your child's education with this organization or those whom they are affiliated with.

My child has only been in Berean for 1 year but so far she loves it. Coming from a public middle school the administration and teachers has made the transition very easy. We are pleased with the communication provided by the teachers. I feel like my child is challenged and will be well prepared for college.

My son attended Berean from 3rd to 8th grade opting to attend a secular school for his first 2 years of high school. He struggled with all the ungodly influences of the secular school and asked to go back to Berean this year. I am thrilled as Berean is a great, safe place for a young person to be. He is very happy to be back and enjoying the new administrator!

Our daughter has attended this school for six years now and hope to be able to financially remain here until our daughter graduates! We absolutely love the school staff and feel like they are our extended family. My husband recently lost his job and as we reviewed our finances, I decided to take on a 2nd job so we could keep our daughter here it means so much to us so that should tell you a lot more than I have room to add comments.

We are an exception above most private schools. We are an affordable private school. The staff is compassionate about the students. I would recommend this school to anyone who ask for a great private school.

My child will be graduating from Berean Academy this year and I am happy to report the she has had a wonderful education and a great school enviroment for the past twelve years. It is not perfect, but when compared to public school, it comes close to perfection. I have found the teachers to be supportive and helpful. They showed a genuine concern for her and a desire to see that she succeed. I would highly recommend this school.

'You are only as strong as your weakest link.' There are positive things to say about Berean (as any school), but one of the weakest links is the lack of caring and involvement the teachers display. Do your child a favor, and send them to a school that is composed of faculty that love students and long for your child to succeed!

I was a student at Berean for 12 years and now my chilren are enrolled in the school after attending public schools for 3 years. It like any other school has its share of problems, but a whole lot less than public schools. Yes, the kids may act the same in High School as the kids in public, but really who are we kidding, we were all teenagers once upon a time and we all acted the same way. You just have a lot less and more supervision in a small Christian based school.

my child has gone to berean for five years and has gotten a very good education. like any school they have there problems but have always been resolved. they now offer football, basketball, soccer, volley ball, baseball and tennis for most students. we are a close school family and I appreciate that as opposed to public schools that are so big

My child use to attend this school, and liked it at first and did attend over 5 years, but then they starting losing students and teachers. They don't have basketball and soft ball or other activities for all grades because they have lost so many students. They also had to combine the 9th and 10th grade. Very sad. My child is so much better off after leaving this school. They need a new leader...

I have attended Berean for eleven years. A school is only as good as its students and teachers are. Teachers don't know everything that goes on but what they do know they immediately correct and do not overlook. There is strict discipline at Berean and a godly atmosphere. Because it is a small school there is the occasional drama. We have recently bought new computers and new textbooks. I have missed being away from the students at Berean this summer and I can't wait to get back. You shouldn't judge any school by what other people say, so I encourage you to come and see for yourself how great Berean is.

If your child is going into elementary school then this is a great place to be; however, if you are interested in the upper part of the school then take my advice: send your child to another high school! The high school is lacking discipline, academic challenge, extracurricular activities, college counseling, full-time princial, caring knowledgable teachers, classroom space, computer access, and recent textbooks. Plus there is rarely: depth in chapel, prayer in classes, and bible reading. I suggest you look at either public education, magnet schools, or private schools on the other side of the river.

I went to Berean for 8 years before I graduated in 2005. I was not happy at this school. The focus of the school was hypicritical; teachers were more concerned about the lenght of skirts and hair styles than the fact that students cursed and the teachers had no respect in the classroom. Now that I have entered college, I am very aware that I was not prepared for my English or science classes. The Board that runs the school knows nothing about the students, and makes rules that hinder more than help the student body. Plus, the principal is also a full time teacher. Think twice before placing your child in Berean.

I started attending Berean in the second grade and went there all the way through my elementary year. I had little complaints until I entered Junior high. In seventh grade it seemed as if the teachers didn't care nearly as much and did not act as if they wanted to be there. Although I wasn't happy I stayed there and even continued until I entered 9th grade. Once in high school I felt as if I was always getting punished in my classes because of one or two disruptive kids. Also I was not challenged and breezed through the year. Because of these reasons I left the school very happily and have yet to look back now that I am in tenth grade at a much more challenging school and a better Christian environment. Also the teachers seem to like their job and care more about the kids.

I have been going to Berean Academy for 7 years. It's a wonderful school. The teachers are the best! They make learning fun,and it's much better than all the other schools around. They keep the language appropriate, and they keep the ladies clothes modest.I was in a wreck when I was in first grade(1999).When I was in the hospital they were all very kind and sweet. My first grade class sent me get well cards and books. This year I had to move to GA,but the thing that I miss the most is the people there, and the school itself.

I have been going to Berean for 7 years now and all I can say is its nothing like the parents think it is. All the kids act the same as they would in a public school and the only difference is we get taught Bible principals instead of Evolution. And since it is such a small school there is much more drama than in Hixson or Soddy or Red Bank.

I've been going to Berean since I was 5 & I am now 15. I don't know what these parents are talking about how great Berean is. Don't get me wrong it's an good school for children in elementary school but if your sending a child to high school it's the same as a public school would be or even worse because I hear cussing , threatening on a daily bases so I just had to tell the parents that are thinking about sending your child here because you really need to think about if you want your child to be in this kind of environment.

My twins attended Berean for 7 years, we think it is the best. The teachers are caring & supportive. It's almost like a large extended family instead of a school. I wish there were more berean academies available. If there is anyway you can send your children to Berean: do it!

My children have improved 100% since starting at Berean 3 yrs ago. They seemed very frustrated in public school. At Berean they are very happy young people and all the kids seem to respect and love each other. The teachers really care about the kids too. I am so glad God led us to this school.

I think Berean Academy is the best school for children to go to. They have a good Christian teaching of the Bible, and the teachers are there for you no matter what the problem is.
