My son transferred to Kenwood this year, and the transition was seamless. He was welcomed by the teacher and the class immediately. I was extremely impressed with teacher communication and sincere concern for challenging him (small class sizes). The principal, Mrs. Masters, is "hands on" and truly cares for the teachers and students. The dedicated teachers arrive early and remain late to make each day great for students. My son really enjoyed the Storybook Character Day, Teacher Pet Parade, AR Red Carpet Walk, Awards Day, Family Fitness Nights, and TCAP Fun Day. All my concerns were met, and I look forward to another great year at Kenwood. The only negative comment I would express would be the CMCSS standardized testing policy. The kids are tested entirely too much, and the tests disrupt teaching time. My son scored excellent on every test, and the testing was NOT necessary for his learning or stress level. (Tests included STAR Math/Reading, 9 wk benchmark, 9 wk learning links,9 wk CRA, writing assessment, running records, and TCAP. Many tests required 4 days of testing) Way too much!

My children attend KES. The positives are that parent involvement is encouraged, communication from the school is wonderful, and there are many little things that I love! My 3rd grader has an AMAZING teacher (H). There are not words to describe how wonderful she is. My kindergartner, however, is a whole other story. His teacher (C) is belittling, lazy and sometimes just out and out mean. She doesn't have the patience to be a kindergarten teacher. Also, she misspells almost every other word in every letter she ever sends home. I expect my children's teachers to be EDUCATED. Furthermore, he has nightmares about her and comes home crying almost everyday. Every attempt I have made to switch classrooms has been stopped. My youngest will be in Kindergarten next year, and you can bet he will not be in her classroom, possibly not even in this school. I'm seriously considering switching schools, even if it means paying for private school or quitting my job to homeschool.

ihave had problems with this school .c.brown the fifth grade teacher is rude and hateful to the kids. She has been known to tease kids in front of other kids about weight. She is not fit to care for our kids.

The teachers at Kenwood are some of the most caring educators I've had the pleasure dealing with. Their major concern is the well being and development of the children, not just drawing a paycheck.

Kenwood Elem. is one of the best schools in Clarksville! I prefer it over Sango and Rossview which are overcrowded!

I love KES and don't want to leave! I was skeptic at first but after checking with the Board of Education and reading the report cards for the schools and glad that my child attended KES. The teachers love their jobs and the principal is friendly!!! Montgomery County should have more schools like KES!!!

I will say that I have had four kids go through Kenwood and I have had nothing but good experiences. I love most of the Staff and the ones I did not meet I am sure they are just as pleasant because the school runs very smoothly. The principal Unfried is a great motivator to the students yet she still has her strict side. Never had a problem that she could not listen to nor did she ever take offense to critism.

My son is in Kindergarten and loves school, the school has low standards for teachers. Unfortunately we got stuck with a C- teacher. To bad.

My son started to this school 3 months ago after we purchased a home here. It is a really good school. He is in Kd and his teacher is great. The meals are exceptional! It is very nicely decorated and clean. They are very safety conscientious. He has learned so much in just the past three months. Wonderful school.

My children have all gone to KES for 5 years and I have nothing but good things to say about KES. Sometimes in any field people can be overwhelmed in certain situations and at that time, you have encountered rudeness but it is very rare at KES. They are very protective of the students and handle situations the best they know how. We are currently moving to NES and NMS, and I hope they are just as good if not better!

My children have been going to KES for 3 years now. In the past 2 years, the office staff has become very rude and disrespectful and the principal acts like she is better then anyone else. No wonder they can't find anyone to help them with the PTA, they treat the ones that care and want to help like crap. I am considering transferring my children to another school.
