Recent Reviews
No other school in Knox County (or Tennessee) has the heritage of this school. It is so important to the community and proves it by coupon book sales, etc. There are many 5 and 6 generation students and many former students stay right here in the community. It is a school that CARES for children. At the time of Bob Martin's retirement, there had only been 4 principals in 100 years. No other school can top this. All students can give you a long list of the many wonderful memories of being a student, teacher, staff member or just a community member.
Corryton Elementary is a very old school but is very family oriented and they care about the welfare of their students. I went there as a child and so has most of my family for generations. Teachers have been known to keep in close contact with parents on the overall progress of their students. Comparing Corryton Elemtary with a city school, I would pick Corryton over any school anytime. My children love Corryton and I hope that one day I can move back to the area in time for my youngest child to attend there.
