Only 1200 characters allowed and that is no where near enough to fly describe how bad the schools are. I have experience with both the middle school and high school. If you're an outsider you get bullied from the jump unless your in a club, play a sport, rich or family! The school allows bullying in manors in which it should not and will turn it around on those being bullied due to their status in the community and school! If you can avoid these schools do so.

This school is very elitist, if you don't play sports, come from money, have the latest clothing then you wont fit in with the pupils OR the staff. There is little support for pupils who do not fit with the 'in' crowd. Bullying is prevalent in all areas of the school! Students run the school office! No accelerated classes or classes outside of required offered (ie only Spanish). Dress code applied when it suits staff. This school should be avoided at all costs.

The school is not very good, discipline is terrible, and there is zero to slim diversity within the school. Many people are treated very differently because of sexuality, color, or other factors. I would not recommend this school to anyone who could not afford better. On a different note, with the lack of students at the school, you child may receive a more 1 on 1 education than other schools.

Meigs may not offer as many varied classes, but I am satisfied with the education my children are receiving. I feel safe sending them to this school. They are not put down for they have or not have.

By far this is one of the worst high schools around. my daughter used to be a student there and was, well let me put it this way, not poor but not rich and was treated very differently than the richer and the ones that were in all the clubs. they have a dress code but only enforce it to who they want to. I'm glad I let her get her GED and get out of that school.

Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
