As a parent who had two children at DES, I can say that they both had great experiences while there. The teachers and staff are freindly and even though my kids were newcomers to the community they quickly became a part of the Dover Elementary family. My younger child's penmanship could have been better but overall, both earned good grades and had good relationships with teachers and freinds while there.

My child attended this school until I had to pull her out due to the ineffectiveness of the principal. He avoids problems and the school lacks the community friendly feel of the other elementary school in the county.

Very nice place for a child to go to school. Friendly and cooperative staff.

I am very pleased with the teacher response time when I have an issue. My son (4th grade) has been struggling with his classes. When I voice my concerns on certain issues, usually in a letter, the teachers call me right away to explain. I appreciate that and the information they gave me helped me to start working on the issues he is having that are causing him to struggle. Because of that call and the information I received from it, his scores have gone from Ds and Fs to Cs and Bs.
