My child has been at Harold McCormick since Kindegarten, we live outside the city, so I must pay the tuition for her to attend there. I wouldn't have it any other way! I love the school. The staff is second to none! I wouldn't want her to attend anywhere else. I hope she has an equal experience as she moves to TA Dugger in 6th grade.
My child is in the fifth grade this yr at HME and has attended here from grade k. I love the school. The teachers are great and the staff like custodians teachers assistants in this school are AWESOME!
all of my children have went here, it has great teachers and staff and I dont think there is better out there>
This is an excellent school. The teachers are wonderful. My two children learn a lot there. I only have 3 complaints about the school. One, there isn't a decent selection of extracurricular activitites. Two, I wish they had an open door policy for parents. Three, school pick up can get a little hairy. However, the important thing is good teachers and the children learning where they feel safe. I feel that HME does a wonderful job at that!
I would like to thank a kindergarden teacher Ms.Estep she is really a wonderful teacher and my child loves her. She does a great job with the kids and i see progress in my child everyday. Thank you for making it easy for him the whole faculty is a blessing. Thank you from the heart. A proud parent of a student from Harold Mccormick!
As a parent of a child with special needs, I have been impressed with the amount of support she has received while attending HME. As an educator, I know the laws and regualtions dealing with special education. The school has gone above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my child receives a free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment. I commend the principal, teachers, and staff for a job well done! I would like to make mention of an incident that showed the level of compassion and empathy this school demonstrated. My mother-in-law is in a wheelchair and wanted to attend a school musical. The principal and support staff were very helpful in making sure she could could get in a door. The principal actually held the door open for her which only reinforced my choice in schools, we are actually zoned West Side! Thanks HME!!!
My son is a student at HME. As an educator in another school system, I knew I was giving up the huge responsibility and priviledge of educating my child to another school and teacher. I can say without reservation that I consider it a priviledge and honor that my child has been a part of this school. The quality of education, the level of professionalism, the genuine love and concern for each student is evident the moment you enter the building. Thank you to all who had a part in my child's first year in school. You have set the bar!
I have two children attending Harold McCormick. I find the atmosphere disrespectful to parental rights and concerns,eg. the principal yelled at me to sign the registry when I went in to hand over doctor's excuses but was interceded to the office by my daughter's teacher. (I am not an unruly child but a parent who expects respect). We're barred from observing classroom activities, and classroom attendance policy is carried out by intimidation. Despite my objection due to my non-Christian religious faith, the 10 Commandments are displayed publically and religious literature freely handed out. The children are constantly being sent home fund-raising letters and catalogs as well. Overall the policy-makers and principal of Harold McCormick act as if they own my children.
