My son was subjected to violence and theft on a regular basis and the principal did not do anything about it. What's worse, is they withheld his report card because the lock was stolen off his locker. He also had his ID stolen from his desk. The kids at this school are completely out of control and there are some serious leadership problems amongst the staff for them to allow this type of behavior from the children. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

I am an eight grade student at Goodletsville middle school in the year of 2010-11. This school is trying to keep us proficient in our tcap test. They have divided us students into groups for help on the subject we need help on. Give a chance to this school. I am glad I changed From Nelly's Bend Middle to Goodletsville Middle. Lets go trojans! With our Teachers help, We Will Make!

This is an excellent school. The teachers are dedicated to teaching every student as an individual. My child's experience there was positive.

I am a student at Goodlettsvillle Middle School. I am in Encore and most of the work that teachers give me aren't challenging. This is my first year at GMS and I hate it. If you have kids and they want to come here say, "NO!"

Some of the teachers, aren't really teaching. So, now I'm failing grade and worried that i won't pass

I would not recommend this school at all for anybody. The staff is very nice but the principal is needing people skills and really need to have a better attitude. Dr Register needs to take a real hard look at her!

Its a great school. it can challenge the best of the best with some great teachers. I would recommend sending anyone's child to this school.

Im a student here and I think that this school is ok! My uncle (the vice principal) takes everyone seriously (unless someones trying to make a joke thats not serious). I like that school and i wont leave until im in high school!

It is sad that my daughter feels unsafe, bullied, and unchallenged at this school. There is little structure or organization in daily routines and they are WAY behind grade level in learning. It is clear the principal does not have the best interest in the children.

I am a parent and have no reason to lie. The last three posts must be from the principal (or some other staff) posing as a parent because they are the only positive remarks and they are close in time. The school is a joke and I am telling you get your children out of there! My kids suffered almost an entire year before we were able to relocate. Like I said, I do not work for the school and have no reason to lie. Get your kids a better education! If you read the posts before these three, it pretty much sums up the truth.

I just read one of the parent's comments. It upsets me to think GMS is not a great school. The principal and staff handle all concerns with followup to the parents. It amazes me to see this forum as nothing but positive for this school. If you don't believe me, you need to come volunteer. I volunteer as often as I can. They do a wonderful job. It saves me a lot of money by not placing my child in a private school.

I had three of my children attend Goodlettsville Middle. The school is well maintained. I have seen the principal's car at the school late at night and on weekends. My children received a great education and are doing well in high school and college.

Goodlettsville Middle is my old high school and now my daughter attends the same school that I attended. Many great and talented people have come from this school and I'm glad my child has the same opportunity to do the same.

I am a very patient person but have to agree with the other posters on here also. This is one of those 'if I had known then what I know now' situations and it is making me crazy to see how it is destroying my child! His teacher is terrific and all but when you have a principal who seems to think that discipline can be replaced by a forced handshake and 'apology' there isn't much hope for order, let alone education...

We came to GMS in January and my kids are DREADING going back tomorrow from spring break. I agree with all the reviews before mine about disrespectful students and unstable faculty. We are going to try to make it until May but it is so hard to get my children out of bed each day to go some place so dark and negative.

There are some real gems at this school as far as teachers go, but they can only do so much for the overall experience in this school. Kids are poorly behaved, foul-mouthed and I constantly have to coach my son to not fall prey to the ones who are dishonest. He has already been stolen from twice. There were a lot of lofty statements made about the program and how issues are handled, but I have yet to see anything enforced if I don't go down to the school and press the issue. My kid is miserable... we're looking for some alternatives now but Goodlettsville has no other options. That makes ME miserable!

This is a crazy place. There are too many changes and not enough consistency on discipline or anything else. My son has had his schedule changed about 4 times in the 1st month because they can't figure out what teacher to put where. Crazy kids and crazy staff. We won't be here long.

Our kids go/went to Goodlettsville Elementary school and had successful experiences. When it was time for middle school, we struggled with where to send them. When we were looking into GMS, the principal and other teachers told us there was a 'magnet program' within the school, among other great things. However, my daughter started 5th grade a few weeks ago and has been exposed to fighting, theft, disrespect, and gang problems. We are very distraught and are planning on going to private school or Sumner County. Everything this principal has told us was incredibly untrue. This is the worst school I have ever seen.

Metro schools are in trouble and this school proves it. My 8th grader counted over 10 new faces in faculty and administration. They just can't keep good teachers. Also, every school except this one has a website that works.

I will not be sending my child to this school this year. We moved so we could go to Sumner County. There have been too many poor decisions made here and my son was miserable.
