The teachers at NBE are excellent. That being said, the morale is so low it's palpable. The Principal is very difficult to work with and cold. There is some parent involvement, but not much. We lose good teachers because of our administrator, who rules everything with an iron fist. This could be a great school, it's very diverse and has a very talented group of educators, but it won't be until Dr. Kimble retires.

We love Nannie Berry. Our son was in Kindergarten last year. He did amazing! The teachers were awesome. My sons teacher was great about keeping us informed. There was always something going on at the school. It was a fun time while learning!

Nannie Berry does well on state testing. I believe this is due to the dedication and focus by the respective teachers and prinicple. There is no free flow of ideas and conversation. The culture in this school is oppressive and teachers and parents are intimidated by the prinicple. As anywhere, the quality of education can change from classroom classroom. That is definitely the case at NB. Some teachers show concern others find it difficult to be even friendly to the children when giving instruction.

nannie berry is an excellent school. The teachers are caring and truly interested in the development of their student. the children are tought to be respectful and friendships are easily formed. the class sizes are small enough for the teachers to focus on students needs.

I have two children who have attended Nannie Berry and it is absolutely one of the best schools in Sumner County. Dr Kimble is a gem and the office staff is very helpful also.Low turnover rate for teachers, most have been there awhile. If you can get you children into teh afterschool program, The Berry Patch, it is great, if not try KinderCare. The parental involvement is at its maximum. I would never leave this school.

This school, along with the teachers and principal is top notch. I would not transfer my child to any other school in this district. The front office staff is friendly and helpful.

My daughter came here at what was to be the beginning of her 2nd grade year. She was attending what we thought was a very good private school. But, after the first week the teacher showed concern with her progress and test scores and she was put back into the 1st grade after it was discussed with me and her father. After the first 6 weeks my daughter was reading an entire book and making 100's on spelling tests. Thanks Mrs. Koutny... your the best. Nannie Berry is a great school. They really care about their students.

At first we had heard that this was a great school, and the academic part is great. The teachers are excellent, however; in this last year the principal has started to become more authoritive. Recently she installed a rule where children cannot talk during lunch until they have finished their lunch. She cut the recess time from 30 minutes to 20. She limits the number and type of field trips.(2)There is absolutly no parent involvement whatsoever. The principal simply will not listen. Last month, after a strenuous phone campain over 100 parents showed up to voice concerns over some rules, other meetings were planned, but no results were accomplished. We are the only school in the county that had no Thnksgvg. Lunch with parents. A lot of parents and teachers are afraid of the principal and will not speak out. It is getting worse every week.

When we moved, our son transfered from Jack Anderson to Nannie Berry. We are very pleased with Nannie Berry. The school is not overly crowded and it has a real family atmosphere. Ms Amy Lancater is a new 3rd grade teacher and she is so organized and involved in each child's progress. We use the after school child care program called Berry Patch Child Care and they are the best. My son gets lots of exercise playing freeze tag and other fun games and he still has time to do creative projects. The staff is flexible and involved with my son's care. I am very satisfied with every interaction I have had with this school.

My daughter has attended Nannie Berry for 3 years. The teachers are a great asset to the school. My daughter's teachers showed concern when my daughter forgot her reading glassses and when she had the flu. Mrs.Kimble is also a excellent principal. She takes time each school year to meet the parents.
