Hornsby now has no arts(music or art) period. The "extra" classes are library, guidence and computer.
does not have very good written communication for parents on school outings/events....we were not born and reared here so we are usually the last to know on events involving the school
Tons of homework, but little classroom work. No extracurricular activities except basketball and cheerleading. Poor PTO group. School uniforms have no choice for the child.
Poor leadership. Nothing but ball for extracurricular activities. No drama, or art at school. Starting extremely strict dress code in Aug. 2007. Parents are allowed in school only when making money for school with fundraisers and PTO functions. Always wanting money from parents for one thing or another. Beware-not what it's cooked up to be.
By far the best school in Hardeman County - principal and staff are excellent. Hornsby Elem. School provides a safe, relaxed, and caring learning environment that is very hard to find in most schools today! Keep up the good work!
I love this school. The teacher per student ratio is wonderful, the kids are able to get more one on one teaching and additional help. The staff is very courteous and patient. I have always received help when needed. The principal does a wonderful job and always has time to speak to you. My child has been in several schools and this one definitly ranks at the top!
