I have only had an issue with 1 out of 6 teachers that my 3 children have had at Brickey. I absolutely love this school. My oldest daughter has been to 5 different schools between TN and IN, and Brickey is by far the best school I have ever dealt with. I would not send my 3 children to any other school. My husband went there in the 80's and my mother in law says Brickey was even great back then. And hopefully my grandchildren will be lucky enough to attend here as well!!
I truly enjoy teaching at this school. There are an abundance of resources and the special area staff is outstanding. You should feel assured that your student is well taken care of in this environment! We are improving our technology each year and are well-equipped to teach in a variety of ways!
The Kider area is fantastic! Teachers are great. Parents encouraged to participate. Upper grades are very good as well.
We have had very good experiences with the teachers. The administrator and secretaries are not very friendly. They seem very harsh with parents.
We've had good and bad experiences at Brickey. I think you'll find that with most schools. Last year was awful. My child's teacher wouldn't do anything extra to help her learn. Everything was dull, boring, and the communication was not good. This year looks like it may be more promising though. I agree that building is beautiful and clean. We've never had any issues with bullying or safety concerns. I don't think as much is done for students who don't learn in a conventional manner and need more visual or hands-on experiences. If your child is average or above, they'll do well. It is those that aren't special ed, but not quite average either that struggle.
Left Brickey after several years...Great new building, but principal needs to be more concerned with students, teachers, and parents working together toward the goal of greater education. It's alright to have a 'teacher' principal, but children are falling through the cracks and parents don't feel like they have a voice. Just not the same atmosphere as the old Brickey.
It is a great school! Clean, Great Teachers, and Fun!!!
I am a proud parent of a Brickey 5th grader. She has enjoyed her years at Brickey where she has not only been academically challenged but also challenged to be a better person. She has been blessed with talented and caring teachers. The administrative staff always appears open to new ideas and ready to listen to parent concerns. Thanks Brickey!
I am a grandmother of a student at Brickey-McCloud. My granddaughter was in kindergarten last and she excelled above all our expectations. She is doing extremely well again this year as a first grader. I am very proud not only of my granddaughter, but of the fact that she has great teachers at Brickey-McCloud!!!
We recently bought a new home and the only necessity (other than more space for our growing family) was that we had to remain in the Brickey district! My daughter has attended for 2 years and she loves going to school every day. The teachers are phenomenal! The people at the school are more than staff and instructors, they are family. I am very excited to have two more children in pre-K who will be attending Brickey very soon.
