This school has failed my child numerous times in this school year. Total unprofessional teachers. My other child will not attend this school!

I have had children in PRES for a year now. I have found that the Principal and office staff can be very very rude. They don't always act professional. I have heard the secretary speak multiple times about children and circumstances of families in the office to other parents, when I have been in there. Some of the teachers there have also been rude as well, even unthoughtful to the needs of one of my children. I think that the school has potential to be great, but only if they get rid of a few of the newer teachers that seem to be holier than thou, and get a new secretary. However, the parent involvement in the school is fabulous! They really pitch in and pull it together! Great PTA!

I am very disappointed in this school. I have had my girls in this school for years now. My one is in 4th year and one is in 2nd. They both had the same Kindergarten teacher and then the same 1st grade teacher. We were absolutely thrilled with them! They were terrific teachers! But the school has had an uncanny ability to get unprofessional and unqualified principals in there. Due to the principal issues, we have seen MANY wonderful teachers leave the school. And unfortunately, the people that are replacing those teachers are just as poor quality as the principal that is in place. Luckily I have been in the school long enough to know which remaining teachers are really good. I thank heavens that I can non-request people! If I had the money to put my children in private school, I would. It is really a shame! It is sad to see such a historical school that was staffed with great teachers decline to due principal negligence.

WE LOVE Pleasant Ridge Elementary!!! Our son was previously in a private Christian Academy with small class sizes and wonderful teachers. P.R.E. is a great match excluding the fact that it's a public school and cannot teach the Word of God. We truly LOVE P.R.E. The class sizes are small, the new principal is outstanding and I cannot say enough about the teachers and staff. We've always felt very welcomed and like family. I would recommend this school to anyone!

The school provides a high quality education. It is located in a beautiful, safe setting and the teachers I've worked with are very accessible and experienced. My child is thriving there!

My son is starting his 5th final year at Pleasant Ridge and my daughter is starting first grade. This is an excellent school with the most professional staff. The parents make the schools what they are. If your not involved then you should never complain. I feel very fortunate to be a part of a smaller school. School now are like assembly lines for kids and over crowded on top of that. We don't have that problem thankfully.

I am very disappointed with this school. The principal is very unprofessional and can be quite rude. The school is old and so are most policies. I will be moving just so my son can attend a different school next year.

First let me say that my sons have been in other Knox County Schools and I have 3 sons One has graduated and is in college one is a senior and one is in 5th grade and was in 4th grade last year at this school ,The building is old and is a historical building it is in fair shape . Teachers are so so to below what should be expected The special ed Teacher is wonderful ,Music teacher is below expectation and singled out a certain student to pull from public programs while on stage while others are left to run wild , There are new teachers this year so perhaps it will improve but I am not holding my breath. The building is clean ,old . Special Ed Teacher is wonderful ,the rest minus the new teachers leave much room for improvement.

We loved Pleasant Ridge. Our son was in kindergarten and went from not knowing his ABCs to being an accelerated reader! The school is old but well maintained and clean.
