I love this school. It has been great with my son and he loves it as well. The teachers and staff work very well with the kids and they really learn a lot here. I am not moving this year because I want him to stay here for 2 more years. This is a great school.

Currently our experience with Shannondale Elementary and staff is been far from pleasant. We are new to the area and the school. During the open house, the teacher was withdrawn and unfriendly. However, she was very interested on how we were able to "transfer in" and where we currently reside. After receiving our answer: no transfer, and about five minutes from the school, the teacher had nothing else to say. We stood there in silence. Upon leaving, I watched as the teacher greeted other parents and students warmly. Thus far the school year has been unpleasant and awkward. We have complained of little communication which has resulted in daily behavior reports which we thought would inform of our child's academic weaknesses and successes. So far, they are only about behavior. We have attempted to inquire about resources to use to help our child. We were told that our child demonstrated "incapabilities" and symptoms of 2 different psychiatric disorders. Alarmed, we immediately sought out testing centers for our child. We are also bothered by some misinformation we received by a prominent staff member and that member s apathy toward our child s success.

I love the friendly and nurturing environment that Shannondale is rightly known for and family involvement in the school is remarkable. I am disappointed in the academic challenge of the classroom. A single teacher with +-20 elementary kids necessarily has to teach to the average kid in the room. There is nothing in place to help those kids who show a particular aptitude in one area or another to develop those abilities. Shannondale has great potential, it could be SO much better than it is!

I have three children that attend Shannondale and I have nothing but nice words about this school. The teachers and staff are great. They are easy to work with and only want what is best for our children.

My daughter transitioned from a private Montessori school to Shannondale this year and is in Kindergarden. We couldn't be happier. There is great PTA involvement by parents and the teachers are very professional.

I have a daughter at Shannondale. This is her 3rd year there, and I could not be more pleased. The staff is amazing; they are the highest rated elementary school in the state of TN. My daughter is so advanced because of the teachers at Shannondale. I highly recommend it!

Shannondale is a TERRIFIC school. The Principal truly cares about the kids. The teachers are enthusiastic about teaching the kids. Mrs. Lane is the nicest principal ever, my kids think the world of her! I am proud to have an elementary school in my community like Shannondale!

This school has great parent involvement which helps for the success of the school. Parents that don't even have kids at the school come and help other kids whose parents do not help them. I read where someone sounds upset about the political status of the school. Well, society is political, that is just part of it. All students at this school are treated fairly and the teachers and staff have only the best interest of the kids in their hearts and minds. Collecting food, clothes, money, for families in need are just a part of the nature of the school. This is not just a school, it is a community that cares for it's kids.

My Family loves this school. We have two children going to shannondale and they could not be any happier. The PTO is great! We have a Walkathon in the early fall that raises money for the school and it is so much fun. I would not want my children going to any other school. Shannondale Teachers must be teaching the students something because every year they have received A's on their state wide report card for the past 3yrs. I say keep up the great work Shannondale Teachers and Staff!

This school is way to political, the leadership is not concerned with the children as a whole. Is worried more about tcap scores and raising money. Most of the parents that stay at the school day in and day out control alot at the school if you fit in with those parents you may be ok with your child there, but if you are like me were both parents have jobs and cant be at the school from 7 am till 3 pm then your child will more than likely be left out or targeted by teachers who had a bad time dealing with people at a young age or was mistreated as a student them self. This is not a letter to bad mouth the school the school its self is a great school. Some of the leadership and a few bored parents would get on with teaching and keeping the parents out of the discision making would be of a great deed to the school. five year parent.
