David Crockett School was a big hit this morning for my granddaughter and me. They hosted a Grandparents' Breakfast, a book fair, and the grandparent/grandchild photo op for all who attended. The tempting aromas from the kitchen, the smiling faces of grandchildren holding tight to their grandparents' hands, and the numerous pieces of students' written work and their beautiful artwork kept my attention longer than the time school had probably allotted, but were very nice to me. I realized this when my granddaughter brought to my attention her friends were going outside for morning break. I was extremely pleased with the kindness of all school employees, including the pleasant cafeteria staff. I think it is a true reflection of the disposition of a school working as a school family after my morning enjoying special time to be with my granddaughter the first week of September.
