I have been going to this school for almost 3 full years. Man wasn't this the worse mistake of my life! First of all, many of the teachers here are very snobby and stuck up. Don't get me wrong, there are a few good teachers here that actually care about you, they are just hard to come by. The dress code here is ridiculous. The food is horrible! The bread on sandwhiches is very soggy and cold. The only good thing at LCHS is the health classes. So do yourself a favor and do not go to LCHS! It's a horrible idea.

LCHS is a very good school. As a student currently enrolled at LCHS I am receiving excellent and challenging courses. Yes, Lawrence County High School does offer a number of vocational classes which I also think are great. LCHS has some of the best teachers in the county! I disagree with the parents saying that LCHS does not offer challenging classes. Perhaps their children aren't taking classes such as Pre-Cal, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, or Anatomy. Not to mention the duel enrollment opportunities. The school also has excellent extra-curricular activities such as clubs and sports. The teachers do follow the rules set by the county. I believe that students dress appropriately and teachers do very well watching for outfits breaking the dress code. I am receiving and excellent education that is challenging at times but also fun at times too. College isn't for everyone and the opportunities offered through the vocational department are great. In the real world we do need brick layers, plumbers, electrical engineers, and masoners. The vocational classes are not easy classes. In fact, they are challenging and they teach the students about the jobs they are interested in.

I am curently a student at LCHS. It is a great school. The student body is very united when it comes to sports. Our Student Government provides many activities to make sure everyone is invloved such as frog giggin' and 3 on 3 basketball tournaments. I disagree with all the bad comments.

Lawrence county high school is a good school andi know this for a fact not uless its changed a lot in the past few years but i do have to say they are lacking in a few areas also i also want to say that the school is who knows who and politics plays a very large roll in this school and they let the kids run the office witch i think is wrong it should be a adult .

I completely disagree with the negative comments that have been posted. I have two children who are receiving a wonderful, college prep education. I can't believe the mother who said her college-bound son wasn't challenged. That has not been our experience at all. Did he take one of the four Dual Enrollment classes offered in conjunction with Columbia State? Did he take physics and calculus? Former students are now mechanical, nuclear, and electrical engineers who say they coasted through their upper-level college math and science courses because of their classes at LCHS? As for the mother who complains about students who dress inappropriately: Is that a reflection of the faculty at LCHS or a reflection of parents? I also disagree with the student who said the social hierarchy is damaging. LCHS offers dozens of extra-curricular activities designed to involve students with a wide range of interests. LCHS is a great school!

Its the worst school in Lawrence County. The faculity does not agree as a whole for the rules, thus some kids get by with dressing slutty and their teachers dont care.

As a 2004 graduate, I would say that LCHS is one of the worst possible schools that you can send your child to. Their social hierarchy harms every child who thinks for his or herself unless they are part of it

As a 2004 graduate from LCHS, I can honestly say that I was prepared for college. And when I say college, I mean a real university and not 'the community college' in town. Of course, there are options for your child to learn trades, such as welding and masonry, but there are also advanced classes such as calculus, physics, and chemistry. There are also many opportunities for students to be involved in fine arts such as drama, choir, band, and visual art. The previous comments do no justice to LCHS. Being in a small school district, LCHS does the best they can with the limited resources and financial support they have.

I agree with the negative remarks that other parent made. If your child wants to farm, lay bricks or some other labored job this is the school for your child. On the other hand if your teen is smart and wants a more challenging education this is not the school for your teen.
