This school is a joke of an educational facility. Resources for art class are limited to $1.50 per student in the class - not even enough to buy paper. The library is appallingly neglected as is the technology for students. Half the classes are taught by glorified coaches who show movies and boast about their own athletic accomplishments rather than teach. Like most public schools, the students are mediocre but nothing much is done to try and improve this. MCHS focuses its attention on its athletes and the hand full of students who are expected to go to an actual college. Everyone else is virtually ignored for any preparation for a post-graduation life. The Marshall county school board is rife with politics and over paid bureaucrats. This school does more harm than good to the students who attend it. The state should shut them down.
Awful School. If the administration would put as much emphasis on the education of its' students as it does on the football team, maybe things could start to change. Also, the politics in this county's school board are astounding.
It seems they place much more importance in sports than in education and music.
Horrible School. The politics in this county disgust me as does the lack of community support for anything but the football team.
Marshall County High School has had 9 band directors in the past 10 years. They hire and fire without thought as to how it affects the stability of the students. They also keep changing principals. The changes are very much politically motivated. The leadership on the school board are not setting a good example of excellence.
I found the leadership at this school to be very incompetent
The quality of the academic programs is a good one. They prepare the students for college or whatever choice they make in life. They have several availability of music, art and sports programs. They have several extracurricular activities. They do have some minor problems but most schools do. Overall they are a good school. The teachers are easy to work with and most of the students interact very well with them.
