Westview has very few things going for it. Cheerleading is one of them, but if you aren't a cheerleader or aren't related to one, then you get treated poorly by the school leadership. Almost every single teacher plays favorites at least some time during the year especially the vice principal. The pre-calulus and calculus teacher is a great teacher, but is a dictator in their class room. The math 4 teacher has to constantly get help from their students on homework problems. The courses are challenging and educational, but the projects for some classes are a bit excessive since every teacher gives you them all at once.

Former student. The three stars are all for the english, history, and HOSA teachers at this school. Science and math are mostly a joke here - as of my graduation, physics wasn't even a requirement, which is absolutely absurd. Most math teachers couldn't care less about what they're doing, and the chemistry teachers have a very limited understanding of the subject matter and as a result are not good and conveying it. The only good/challenging bio teachers have all left, and again, NO PHYSICS. I had quite a few friends who wanted to major in something science related in college and watched nearly all of them struggle or change majors. Even the ones that were successful pulled frequent all-nighters in the early days just to "catch up." That being said, the teachers in the threee areas I gave stars to are for the most part exceptional, and standardized test scores reflect that.

Westview has an outstanding academic program and offers many opportunities for students to get help and participate in various activities both before and after school. Student and faculty attitudes are A+.

Westview's graduates are well prepared to further their education at institutions of higher learning and to enter the real world.

I am a former student of westview. This is a safe, well organized school. Most teachers are fair to all students and most are caring. They have more extracurricular activities than when I attended school/ sports included football, basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, and an ag program. Not to mention student government. All in all I would say this is a pretty good school. The only changes I would make would be to the staff. But just a couple of them.
