My son attended CMDS for 6 years and there are pros and cons., First of all, the majority of the teachers are great and supportive to the students. The administration however is out of touch with what the school needs to go forward. I feel that my son got a better education here than at public school but I am not sure it is better than other private schools.

CMDS is awesome. This is my son's first year as a preschooler and I am totally impressed. He loves to go to school in the mornings and when asked by others if he likes it he says yes. It is nice to hear your little one come home talking about God. I feel very comfortable at cmds and recommend to others.

This is our first year at CMDS (son in PreK) and we could not be more pleased. We have been very impressed with the communication from teachers/administration to parents, parental involvement, the quality and personal attention of the teachers, the after care program and more. We are happy to be a part of the CMDS family!

I graduated this past year and it's the best school in the world. I love the teachers, students, and other staff members. I suggest enrolling your child in this school because there's not a better Christian school out there...much less any school.

Our children have attended CMDS since 2002. We started in the Pre-K program and have been very pleased with all aspects of the CMDS program. The teachers wholeheartedly love the children and always have the children's best interest in mind. The adminstration is of the highest integrity and very open to parent involvement. For the working parent, CMDS provides tremendous flexibility in 'before school and after school' care. Academically and religiously speaking, we feel our children have received a well rounded education and highly recommend CMDS to anyone.

This is our family's 9th year at Christ Methodist Day School. Our children are challenged, nurtured, loved, and encouraged to grow in their knowledge of Christ and the academics necessary to succeed at the next level of education. I would recommend CMDS to any family. I appreciate the dedication of the administration and the teachers who give whole heartedly of themselves for all the students. CMDS has been a wonderful place for my boys to become confident in their knowledge of academics as well as their faith. The teachers are there because they love the children. The fact that sports is for anyone not just school and church members helps equal the playing field. We feel blessed to be able to send our boys to CMDS.

As the parent of a graduate of Christ Methodist, as well as a sixth-grader, I can't say enough great things about this exceptional school. CMDS challenges it's students academically while providing an environment of acceptance, resulting in a safe place for personal and individual expression. My daughter, now a junior, is thriving (both academically and socially) at a local college prep school with rigorous academic requirements. In fact, she consistently maintains a 4.0 average or higher, while taking Advanced Placement courses. I have no doubt that the foundation provided her by Christ Methodist Day School has had a great deal to do with her success. She is a strong leader, confident performer, with a solid spiritual base. My son will leave here next spring ready to embrace the world, just like his sister. Our family is so blessed to have found this very special school.

Christ Methodist Day School is one of the best schools in Memphis. Both of our children are thriving at this school. CMDS has provided our children with a firm foundation academically and has also managed to maintain what other private schools have seemed to put on the back burner. CMDS has maintained its dedication to teaching spiritual growth. The teachers and administration are continually looking for ways for CMDS to grow and are on top of any issues that shape the school and the students. The smaller class sizes are great and the teachers are very nurturing, but they also maintain discipline. I am also very impressed with the number of diverse extracurricular activities offered at CMDS. The teachers and administration are very dedicated to the success of the school.

Our family has been part of CMDS for 5 years. Our daughter is in 2nd grade and our son in JrK. Not only does the school do an excellent job in preparing students academically, CMDS also has a spiritual element that we value most of all. Daily devotions, weekly chapel, Bible class, and scripture memorization have been important parts of their education. Many sweet memories have been made. Even beyond the spiritual and academic, our daughter has learned to speak in front of a classroom and perform on stage. As a 3 year-old, she was so shy that she would not go on stage for the annual Christmas program in the small chapel. Now she is confident enough to stand alone at a microphone in front of a full sanctuary. Our family looks forward to the years ahead with this special family of faculty and staff.

We've had 2 children go through CMDS since 3K and have always been pleased with the academic rigor and interaction of the faculty/staff with parents. The student/teacher ratio and modern facilities make CMDS the best bargain in town. We had one child graduate from CMDS to go to one of the most rigorous college prep schools in Memphis and she has had no trouble with the transition. Ask any other private or public middle school administrator or teacher in Memphis about CMDS graduates and you will get positive feedback. We especially appreciate the Christian teaching our children have received. Our children are firm in their faith and will be well prepared for any school environment after leaving CMDS. CMDS prepares our children for the REAL world.

This school has deteriorated under the current administration. It is over-priced and over-rated! Some subjects like art or computer are only taught once a month! This school does not compete acedemically with other private schools. There is a lack of parental involvement and the loss of faculty and students has increased. It is a shame that this school has fallen victim to poor leadership.

In response to the person who posted the horrible review earlier on this site...are you sure you are talking about CMDS in Memphis? We have been so pleased with all aspects of this school. It sounds as if you have a personal problem with the principal. Maybe your the problem!! Our children are excelling and happier than ever!

I am extremely disappointed in Christ Methodist Day School. First the good news: there are some wonderful teachers here who truly care about their students. However, the school administration is dismal. The principal couldn't care less about parental concerns, and has offered nothing to try to improve problems we have encountered. We have met with him on several occasions, and all we get is blank stares when we raise pertinent issues. Do not send your children here if academics are important to you.

our family has had 4 children come through christ methodist day school. we have been so pleased with the quality of academic instruction, the wonderful nurturing enviornment, and the economic value of this education. i highly recommend this school to any parent that appreciates a low student to teacher ratio and lots of individual attention. by the time they reach the 6th grade, they are well prepared and confident to face the academic, social and spiritual challenges of middle school.
