The attitude of the office staff, teachers & principle is so unfriendly. Most of the time when you enter the office, they just look at you instead of saying "Good morning or good evening, may I help you? I encountered an incident there with a teacher as well as the after school care providers that was practically ignored. I had to take it to the board to even get the incident addressed. I question why there has not been a change of staff. There is disrespect from the whole staff towards kids & parents. No one attends the PTA meetings, just to give you an idea of the parents-teachers relationship. Actually, I don't think there is an active PTA there. It is definite not a school that I would recommend.

Just to be fair I have seen first hand about the way the staff talks to you very badly. The kids fight all the time. When trouble arises they don't take action against all involved. Favorites and intimidation from the parents and staff doesn't follow through on taking care of the entire problem.

Most of these teachers here are very silly!! To be in positions that they are in,they can be very unprofessional. They have have recruited a lot of newer with less education, background, and patience. Memphis City Schools system has run off mostly the entire old school, grounded, seasoned, grounded, focused teachers. There is only around 3 teachers left here that seriously would be helpful to your child Pre-k thr 5.(if you are a concerned parent). The staff in office(2 women)attuitudes are awful. MCS should have training for that!

This school has the children at heart!!! The atmosphere of the school gears the students toward learning. From the heart felt sayings on the wall, to the hugs given out by the staff, to the parents who come to have lunch w/their children, it's a wonderful place. Mr Zimmerman, the principal, who has a wonderful attitude toward the education of the children under his care, to the tutors who come to assist the staff, it's just great!!!!!
