My 3 children started in Milan and continued going to Milan until we had to (unfortunately) enroll them in Trenton Ele. School. Milan is outstanding, the teachers have patients with the kids and are VERY willing to work with the parents, exp: my son was having lots of trouble staying out of trouble and his teacher called me and asked what we could do TOGETHER to help him, i mentioned he loves to play his XBOX and he has to earn the privilege to play it. We came up with a plan together and when he would start to do something to get in trouble, she would remind him that he has to earn the XBOX and this helped his behavior 100% in school. I seen 1 review here where a parent said something about the car line for car riders that i dont think is 100% true. The car line for the kids at the Ele school hasnt changed to my knowledge and has always been the same, hence the painted instructions on the concrete driveway lol. My kids were bus riders but on the days they had to be picked up it was ALWAYS the same and VERY self explanatory. Over all, Milan is a school and town i would suggest to any parent to move to and attend Milan schools. Its a great place to live and the schools are awesome!
I personally love the girls who answer the phone and work in reception. I am very pleased with the progree our little boy has made this year. The greeter at the door is so nice.As are the people i have had contact with
I have 2 children who attended kindergarten at Milan Elementary 2006-2007. The 2 ladies at the front office are very rude and do not pay attention! Their teacher was wonderful and gave one on one attention and was willing to help me out after a had my baby. The car rider line was totally messed up and changed the way it operated several times last year and then was still terrible!
I have found the faculty and staff to be very attentive and they go above and beyond to work with both of my children who have been diagnosed with ADHD. Every one of my notes and phone calls have been answered promptly. We are blessed to have such a comprehensive, nuturing, and academic-focused school system in Milan to prepare our children for the future. Thank you to all of the faculty and staff members!
The school is wonderful, the only problem I have is the ladies who answer the phone when you call the school is very rude, one had also hanged up on me. As far as the teachers I have no problem with. The principal is a great and wonderful person, I had concerns about something and she helped my little girl. I have two daughters who attend there, one is in 3rd grade the other in kinder. In all the school is wonderful. I wish the parents would volunteer a lot more as far as sending stuff with their child when they have parties, I work 3rd's and I may not attend all the parties but I do send things with my children. Thanks to all the staff who make the school wonderful.
Milan Elementary school is wonderful! I have a special needs child and they treat him as they would their own. This school wants 'their' children to learn and become better people. The teachers are very caring and understanding. I thank God for them.
The school system is wonderful. They continually strive to do better for their students. The town is the very best that I have ever seen to support their schools. They are open to parents about things that we may suggest or have questions about. Each teacher in the system has a daily planning time that they are willing to use to meet with parents to discuss their child's progress before we receive their grades.
We have been thrilled with the school. My child's teacher is wonderful. We receive feedback on a daily basis and there are many opportunities for parental involvement.
I rate this school very low. They have not helped my son who is adhd at all. he is failing every subject and the teacher gives assignments to leave out certain math problems and then counts off for the kid not doing them. They don't like parents to be involved. The teachers don't keep the parents up to date and don't answer letters or emails. They wait until your child has failed before they tell you anything. They make it too hard to find out anything or talk to the teachers.
