HCA is a homeschool co-op and tutorial for K-12, and my children have attended there since 2004 after years in private and public schools. HCA is a warm, welcoming, and positive environment for both kids and parents. The head administrator uses her educational degree knowledge and experience to provide a well-rounded school with many subjects taught by degreed teachers or experts (i.e., the German and French teachers are from Germany and France and moved here as adults). Even though the classes are only once a week, the teachers are available for help via email and phone throughout the week. Activities include themed dress days, winter formal, spring dance, talent show, fall festival, field day, ski trip, camping trip, rafting trip, Land Between the Lakes trip, senior dinner, graduation nights for K, 6, 12. There is also a Student Council elected by students, homecoming court, science fair, international/geography fair, spelling bees, drama productions, childrens choir, See You At the Pole, etc. Sports teams are in conjunction with other homeschoolers. There are activites and support for moms, too. It's inspiring to be part of a school where parents care and are involved.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
