While the mission at MTCS is provide an education based on Christian values and academic excellence in a nurturing environment that will prepare students to become responsible, productive members of the home, church and community, we never claim to be the right school for everyone. We strive to love and care for each and every child and family here but as we don't live in a perfect world this is not always successful. Our daily prayer is to help each child to be successful in life while learning to love God in a positive enviroment.
There is nothing Christian about this school...they do not enforce anti-bullying situations...the richest, board members, large dollar donors and their grandchildren are untouchable in anything they want to do. It is ALL about money to them. We are now in public schools and the care given by the teachers and staff are far superior than anything at MTCS. I have been around many students and graduates of MTCS and some of them are the hardest drinking, fowl mouthed, lust driven, 'better than thou' people in our workplace. We have experienced both MTCS and public schools...have you?
I am an alumni of MTCS. My father and his four brothers and sisters attended MTCS. I attended pk3-12. My graduating class of only 48 students attained $3 million in scholarships. I happen to be a son of a faculty member and for those of you that have been misinformed we faculty/board of trustee chidren are not treated any different than any other student. I'm currently in college and I don't think I could have been more prepared. Thanks to MTCS I have held on to my Christian values and they actually grew stronger throughout being a student at MTCS. Yes, the school is expensive but the price is well worth it. MTCS is not a government funded school so they have to get money somehow. Education is one of the most important investments in life and I believe that if you want your moneys worth you need to consider MTCS. I had a good friend that decided to leave MTCS because he thought that public school would be a lot better. On his first day at public school he was offered drugs three times. Needless to say, by day 2 or 3 of the school year he was back at MTCS and eventually graduated from MTCS. Jordan Watson
I heard many good things about MTCS, so we decided to start with the summer day camp last year. We were very disappointed. My daughter is very social and loves learning! Her teacher and part time caregivers were not very friendly and didn't seem happy to be there. The regular school year program may be better, but we were so unhappy with the summer program that we changed to another school. It has been the best decision!! We've had no problems at all and our daughter is so happy. My input for improvement would be to have more engaging teachers / caregivers for the summer program. When we were there, they seemed unhappy to be there and disinterested in the children. Hopefully this was just an isolated situation, but it was enough to make us move on to another school.
I love MTCS. It has many things to offer and I feel like I have many oppurtunities. The only thing I dislike about MTCS is the favor shone towards teacher and board members children. Overall, MTCS is a great Christian School.
MTCS is very family-oriented and provides an invaluable Christian education. The teachers are top-notch: they go out of their way to help the children succeed and are never afraid to offer a hug or praise.
Excellent school. I attended MTCS K-12 as a student, and now my children attend there! We are very pleased with their education, and are even more pleased with the Christian teachers and administration who guide them!
MTCS is a great school overall. My only complaint is in regard to the lack of help from the guidance counselor.
I am not a parent but rather a junior at MTCS and it is a great school. The teachers are great and since the classes are small they can more easily provide 1 on 1 help. Of the 5 High Schools in Murfreesboro, this is the best one because it is almost totally safe (No fights, drugs, weapons) And the teachers want you to succeed. And of course student for student, Our students admitted to college for academics ratio is far higher than any of the public schools around here, it really is the best of the 5 schools. So if your trying to decide which one to end your child to, then I would strongly recommend MTCS over any other school in or around this area.
I am a 10th grade student @ M.T.C.S & I think it's a great school. I have attended there since I was three. all the teachers try there hardest to help you succede academically and try to help you grow as a Christian. The best thing to me about M.T.C.S is that it is very easy to be involved because there are a lot of sports and not as many students like at other schools so if you want to you can play a sport and all the students are great
My children have attended MTCS for years now. The teachers are adequate. The administration disciplines board member children and their staff differently. I am very dissappointed in their non Christian attitude.
I was an Alpha-Omega student at MTCS (meaning I never went to another school K-12). I then went on to a well known and respected university. One thing that I noticed while in college was that my background was not as strong as my new peers. Due to the small size of MTCS, it is not feasible to have teachers for advanced classes that not every student will need and/or want to take. I participated in many sports, and enjoyed them greatly. My parents, as well as many other parents, were present and involved with every activity I attended, be it academic, artistic, or athletic. The school provides great religious education and foundation, and the teachers are exceptional. My children will most likely attend there.
My daughter attended pre-school here and we had a bad experience. While she had adequate teachers and adequate learning tools our problem where with billing issues for the tuition. We were constantly being over charged month after month (and I'm sure there were times that i did not catch the errors) months after my daughter left the school we received another bill for over $300 dollars. After numerous attempts to work with the billing department 5 years later this problem is still not resolved. Our problem has not been handled with the Christian attitude that the school and church claims to represent. Also our credit has been affected due to the schools false reporting to the credit bureau. Note to the wise. There are many great 'true' Christian school and pre-schools for your children to attend in murfreesboro that focus on learning, not your bank account.
My child has been in MTCS since PK-4. She is now in the eight grade and Lord willing will graduate from the school. Since I was a public school teacher at one time, I can without a doubt say that this school is excellent. During the summer, it has upgraded its networking and computer systems. The teachers overall are excellent and the curriculum, activities, and overall atmosphere is outstanding. Being a private school, they are trying to improve the buildings and are doing so as they can. All improvements depend on contributions to the school. Anyone wanting to contribute may do so by contacting the school. The next big project is a new Gym/auditorium, which is really needed. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a Christian environment for their children.
We enrolled our first in MTCS for PK-4 and now 3 years later we have two enrolled. It is by far one of the most excellent educational environments in the area. Smaller class rooms, super dedicated teachers and an excellent overall cirriculum. A perfect mix of caring christian enviroment& high acedemic standards. Parent involvement is highly encouraged and the parents of most students get involved making for better opportunities for our children.
I am the parent of one student at the school and feel that it is an excellent school but needs to do some updating of equipment and repairs to school buildings as they are starting to look run down. Also the counseling of high school students for college needs some help since there is only one counselor for seniors and juniors, so seniors take priority, leaving the juniors foundering. My child has enjoyed this school since kindergarden and would not have gone to any other school.
I am the parent of two students at MTCS. My oldest son graduated in 2000 and is doing very well in college. My youngest child is in high school, and I feel that he will be well prepared to enter college in a few years. The school does an excellent job of providing a safe Christian environment where learning is stressed. Their standardized test scores reflect the level of their learning as do the scores of all the students at MTCS. Both of my children have had enjoyable experiences in the athletic programs in which each of them participated. I would not want my children at any other school.
I am not a parent, but an eigth grade student at Middle Tennessee Christian School (MTCS), and I think it's a great school. All of my teachers are christians, there is no stealing or violance, and the people are all really nice. If you are looking for a good christian school please consider MTCS.
