JTM is a wonderful neighborhood public school. The strong administration, committed teachers, and engaged parents keep these kids on track. We believe in modeling the IB learner characteristics in our everyday lives. They are: inquirer, knowledgeable, thinker, communicator, principled, open-minded, caring, risk taker, balanced, and reflective.

JTM illustrates the best of the 'neighborhood school' concept. Great families that know each other from elementary feeder school patterns as well as the welcome atmosphere for newcomers. JTM has many families that have transferred in from other public schools as well as local private schools (including Ensworth, MBA, Oak Hill, FRA, Akiwa, St. Bernard, Christ the King, CPA, Abintra Montessori and Linden Corner). In zone families should definitely consider JTM as a middle school option.

Our family is zoned to JTM Middle School and we are delighted with the experience. It is a public school and therefore has a diversity of population, which we consider to be a strength. The academics are solid, the sports teams are great, and the extra-curricular activities plentiful and varied.

We had our son transferred to JTM from Antioch in 6th grade because we refused to have our child attend an Antioch middle school AND because we have heard such wonderful things about the wide range of special ed programs at JTM. So far we have had a great experience with a team of special ed teachers who have done everything in their power to make sure my child has a successful 6th grade year. We love JTM and hope our son can continue to attend until high school!
