I have one graduate (now at MBA) and one current student at St. Paul Christian Academy and both have and are thriving. St. Paul lives out its mission as well as any organization I know from the head of school to the security staff. Its mission of combining academic excellence, faith, and leadership is unique in the Nashville market place. My children have been nurtured, challenged, and excelled at St Paul both on standardized tests and at next level schools.
I am a former student of St.Paul and my experience was awful. The academics program is not worth the time or money. Go to another school. After graduating from St.Paul I struggled the longest time and I am continuing to struggle because I was not where I needed to be academically. When applying for 7th grade placement do not do anything they tell you. Get a tutor for the ISEE and get all the advantages you can. I am telling you from experience that your children will be better off at a different school.
Both of my boys graduated from St. Paul and they were more than ready to continue on in 7th grade at another independent school. The academics were strong, the Christian piece was lived out, and they learned excellent leadership skills. St. Paul is a warm, nurturing, challenging, and safe school where each child is known and loved.
Small, cozy, family environment. The academics, however, are not worth the pricey tuition. As a former parent of children who attended this school, I would strongly encourage anyone to examine the curriculum before investing thousands of dollars.
We have been extremely pleased with our experience at St Paul so far. My daughter loves school and looks forward to going each day. She said "St Paul feels like family!" I am so grateful that my child has the opportunity to go to a school where the teachers and staff seem to love what they do. She is greeted by a smile every morning and the administration truly shows servant leadership. We are also thankful for the small class sizes that allow for relational, customized learning. We would higly recommend St Paul to others.
I cannot say enough positive things about St. Paul Christian Academy. The leadership is excellent, fair, effective and forward thinking. The curriculum appears to be about a year ahead of area public schools for the same grade levels. The students coming out of St. Paul are enthusiastically embraced by the finest independent schools in Nashville. The reputation of this school just keeps getting stronger and stronger...and deservedly so.
St. Paul Christian Academy is outstanding! My daughter loves all of her teachers and is excited about learning.
I currently have a 2 children at St. Paul. We could not have picked a better school for our family. St. Paul Christian Academy's mission statement is not just a tag line. As a parent you can walk around campus and see the mission in action everyday. If you are looking for a throughly Christian school that is not only focused on academics excellence but also on a passion for Christ, visit St. Paul and take moment to research what their graduates have done. I am a former elementary school teacher. I have taught in one other Nashville area private school and Metro Public schools. It is a sacrifice for our family to send our children to a private school. However, it is one we believe is worth every penny.
Through corporate re-locations, we've experienced several types of schools across the country, and St. Paul truly "fires on all cylinders" for our family. What sets it apart is the unwavering commitment to their mission -- it's by far the most purpose-driven school our children have attended. We're getting excellent academics without compromising biblical teaching and a Christian worldview woven into the daily fabric of our children's day. Plus, the teachers, families and overall St. Paul community are simply wonderful.
St Paul is clearly the BEST source for outstanding academics conveyed in a thoroughly Christian context in Middle Tennessee... if not in the country. The children consistently gain admittance to and excel in the finest junior high and high school programs in Nashville (MBA, Harpeth Hall, Ensworth and BA). Further, the faculty and parental influence is nurturing and creates a true sense of community. Finding academic excellence with a true Christian worldview is difficult. SPCA provides it within a sweet, elementary school context. A final note: The new facilities (gyms, libraries, cafeteria, and more) open Fall 2010! They are amazing.
We left St. Paul 2 years ago and are very glad that we made that decision. Williamson County public schools offer much better academics. While the school is small and cozy, I don't think it's worth the money. The Lower School academic program is poorly led. I strongly urge you to compare the academics at other schools before you enroll your child there
We are going into our 3rd year at St. Paul. I can't say enough good things about it! I am a teacher myself and having taught in another area private school and metro schools I can say St. Paul is at the top! Ask questions, take a look and compare. You will be impressed.
We just cannot say enough good things about St. Paul. Our children have been attending school there for several years, and they are happy and growing academically and spiritually by the day. The teachers are caring and talented, the curriculum strong, and the head of school a highly competant and approachable leader, revered by faculty and parents alike! This school has been a perfect fit for our children and our family. We are grateful to be in the St. Paul community.
St. Paul is a truly exceptional school community. We carefully examined the many fine options for independent elementary schools in the Nashville area and found St. Paul to be the most authentic in terms of living out their mission. We are so thankful that our children have the opportunity to be shaped and molded by their expert faculty.
We have 2 children at St. Paul and 2 more that will be there in a year or two when they are old enough. Their class sizes are small and the teachers are absolutely fantastic. My children are flourishing and can't wait for school to start in a few weeks. The environment is very loving and nurturing and the children are treated with respect. I highly recommend this school....it's well worth the tuition.
When we started our search for the perfect fit for our son, St. Paul was at the bottom of our list. Even after our first tour, we were not all that impressed, but once we met the head of school, listened to the strong academic programs, and saw the loving, nurturing environment we quickly changed ourour mmmmmmmm
After spending one year in public school, we realized that we wanted more for our daughters than public school could offer. We were so thankful to find out about St. Paul. Academics were very important to us, but we also wanted the Christian teaching that St. Paul offered. The foundation they received at St. Paul prepared our daughters for not only the rigors of the private school they attended for 7th-12th grade, but they were also prepared for the challenges of being a teenager; making the right choices, doing what is right, and showing care and concern for their fellow students. For us, St. Paul was a school where my children were known and loved. They treasure their time spent there. They were challenged to do their very best and have been very successful in every phase of their education. I wholeheartedly recommend St. Paul.
We have had an exceptionally good experience with both our boys at St. Paul. The administration and teaching staff have worked hard to provide a nurturing and academically challenging environment. We would recommend St. Paul to anyone considering private school.
In many ways St. Paul Christian Academy is a good private school. However, our experience in their upper school program (4,5,6th grades) has been disappointing. If you''re considering St. Paul, be sure to inquire about how your child will be supported with extra learning help (remedial or advanced) during each grade. Often, learning difficulties don't become apparent until 2nd or 3rd grade. You might find yourself paying additional fees for a tutor on top of tuition. Also, be sure you're satisfied that student/teacher ratio is to your liking. Our experience from pre-k to 3rd grade was very good. 4th, 5th and 6th, disappointing -. I echo the thoughts of the January 12th, 1 star post .
Looking back at our time at St. Paul we now feel that probably a Williamson County school would have been a better choice, or perhaps another private school. Yes, at St. Paul they wear uniforms but so does other private schools in the area. From an academic stand point we were told that it was a top notch school but found the administration and teaching staff to be average to below. Chapel is offered but we found our son's preschool chapel more organized and powerful. The parental involvement is strong but more of a social outlet for most parents. The school is safe but neighbors an older condo facility that overlooks the playground. So, you never know who is watching your child. I highly recommend looking at other private schools in the area, or affluent public schools in the Brentwood area if you can afford a home there.
