i have been going to croft for 4 years. And I think that it is a wonderfull school even though the discipline has been a little bit slack. But i assure you that it is not full of bad children who only want to act bad. There maybe the occasionall bad group of students, but that happens with every school. My teachers have inspired me to try and do great things. My school has a wondderfull zoo program that allows students to go to the zoo TWICE a year for only the price of the buses. Also 6 students applied for the school for science and math at vanderbilt. And 4 people from our school got accepted. That is how well our school is. The only reason teachers are slacking on the discipline of SSA, is that they care more about learning than some stupid dress code. In conclusion i would liketosaythatanyparentshouldtrytheirhardesttogettheirchildintocroft.

I am disappointed to read that the advanced courses have been dropped. I hope that decision will be reversed. I credit the challenging courses with helping my son be prepared for Hume Fogg. He is now wrapping up his freshman year there after 4 years at Croft and so far, it has been a relatively painless transition. I think parents of gifted students should rally together to have the classes reinstated.

Croft WAS an awesome school. With the rezoning and new administration, it has lost ground. Discipline is nearly non-existent with students going to ISS for one period, or just being 'babysat' in the main office until they can go to the next class. The strings department is phenominal, zoo programs terrific, and other extra activities pretty good. Teachers seem to have lower morale this year because of the lack of discipline and support from the administration. With the rezoning next year, it promises to become even less appealing. Such a sad sight to see such a great school go downhill so quickly.

My son really likes the school and the teachers do a great job! The Orchestra dept. does a fine job too! I am disappointed though that they don't have advanced classes anymore. We weren't even told that this was going to be the case this year either. Kids do learn at a different level and it holds them back. I will say that some of my son's teacher's are making an effort to give him extra work.

Since the start of this school year and the arrival of the new principle I feel the school has lost ground. If you have a student with special needs you get all the help they need but if your child is gifted the resources have deminished.

Our experience at Croft has great. The teachers and support staff do an excellent job in keeping our childern safe and interested in learning. My son has taken advance classes this year in the 6th grade and he is very excited about the 7th grade. I am very pleased with the quality of education he has received so far from this school. He has been fortunate to have two male teachers for homeroom. So it has helped in his transition from elementary to middle school. For him to see and have a close MALE REMODEL besides his father and grandfather has been good for him. Thank you Croft Middle School.

The teachers at Croft are phenominal. They work closely with the students to help them succeed. It is a wonderful environment for our children and we are very pleased that they are at Croft.

I think Croft is an excellent public school. I have never felt that my child was unsafe which says a lot for a school population that is this diverse. The principal has done an excellent job of instilling order within the school. As far as previously mentioned issues with dismissal safety, things have been tweaked to improve it. My son is in his fourth and final year and we have never had a problem. Croft has only been open 5 years and has untraditional vehicle accessibility and very limited parking so you'd expect they'd have some kinks to work through. Their academic offerings are excellent and I can't say enough positive things about their music programs. My only complaint is really about parental involvement. It seems that parents who do get involved are really really involved but there are still plenty who are completely uninvolved.

For the other people who have posted reviews I am here to tell them and everyone else if you are looking for a school that is scoring above average, has incredible teachers, and a partnership with some amazing companies, such as the Nashville Zoo this is the school for your child. I have been very impressed with what my student has learned and how helpful the teachers have been. What a great group of people who are always willing ot help. My child has a learning disability and the teachers were very wonderful with following her IEP and going above and beyond! The car rider situation is not stressful or a problem at all, it runs very smoothly to be honest. I am glad with the choice we made in keeping our other child at Croft instead of going to MLK. Kudos to Croft!
