My son is going into the 5th grade and has attended NGS since K. Although we have had our share of ups & downs through the years, I feel as if this is the best school in Cocke County for my son to attend. I do wish that they would re-introduce PTA and update their website more often. Other than that, I don't believe I could find the other schools much better.
i have to grandsons at this school feel like they really are taught well
my daughter left this school ashamed of her ethnic background and our level of income along with shame of where we live. Its a very inclusive school if you don't need their standards of perfection your kids will not be accepted at this school. Or if you want your children to be open minded and treat others as you would expect to be treated I would not send your children here they will not learn that at NGS.
Great School! Best in the county for education by far!
I have attended NGS all of my life except for 1 1/2 years and I really missed it !!! :) You do have a lot of homework as the grades increase but it is good in the long run !!! I would def. send my child to NGS if i was moving in the area of Cocke County .
I have gone to Grammar all my life and loved it until 5th and 6th grade. There is so much homework. But on the positive side the teachers are well trained and very fair. there are so many extra activities. If you are planing to move to Cocke county i would send my kid to NGS with no hesitations.
This institution does not provide an environment that a child needs (and deserves) to develop good decision making skills, stellar self-esteem, respect for themselves or others, nor a foundation of trust in the education system and adults. I strongly recommend, if you have the means and the option, to home school your children or send them to a different school, then do it.
Newport Grammar is a great school. The teachers are qualified, caring, and supportive. There are also many extra curricular activities offered. I would highly recommend this school.
