I agree with 01/10/07,10/08/08,3/05/09 4/29/09 and 8/27/09! I definitely agree about the unfriendliness and the school not doing much about complaints. I also gree with the fact there are only a few teachers that REALLY care about the kids and that they don't challenge the kids at all! I feel that some of the teachers aides are awful as well as don't need to have the job if they have certain picks that they help (which is not fair to the kids).
Niota Elementary school has the best and most dedicated teachers. The teacher's at niota will go in early or stay late to help in anyway they can. Niota has excellent and very quilfied teachers and helpers. The leadership and principal are very eager to help in anyway. The academic program is very challenging on all level's. I had two son's to attend and graduate at Niota and currently have a daughter attending now. I highly reccommend Niota Elementary School to anyone new in the area.
I would llike to commend Niota teachers and the principal for giving the students needstop priority. They take teaching and caring for the students very seriously. As a volunteer and a casual observer at Niota School I have seen first hand how the teachers and principal give selflessly of their time just to make sure the kids feel safe and loved at school.Niota is a great school and is staffed by the most caring people I have ever been around in a school setting.
This is a wonderful school. The teachers are very committed to the students. They are also available to answer any questions at anytime. The staff has always been easy to talk with.
My children excel at NES. Most of the teachers are very encouraging. However, the children are very undisciplined compared to other schools my children have attended. Often the paperwork sent home to the parents, reads as if it were written my an average elementary school student. The choice for the principal at this time is a very poor choice in my opinion. While she may have the education and experience, she does not have the personality needed to be a principal, nor is she even an average leader. The facilities are very untidy, and the parent pick up system is horrendous! I am currently seeking other options for my children.
My child attends Niota Elementary School. Her teachers are great and willing to provide extra help when she needs it. The atmosphere is warm and caring, and all parents are welcome. The administration is very helpful. They have a great family engagement program and afterschool program. I would highly recommend this school.
I am so disappointed in Niota Elementary. The teachers and faculty do not care about the kids. If a child gets picked on and you alert the school, they say they will look into it but they don't and then they label your child as the troublemaker! The kids have no playground to play on. They have to play on an old concrete tennis court with nothing on it but a couple of basketball goals. The teachers pay no attention to the kids at recess. There are a handful of teachers who actually care and are not rude. I give this school an F!
This has got to be the most unfriendly school I have ever been in. Not only are there problems with the school, but if you bring something up, they take it out on your children. Confidentiality is also a major problem. You go to the principle or assistant principle with a problem and they drill your kids about it. They are rude and cant seem to handle any kind of situations. There are a few good teachers there, but not many. What is really funny, most of the teachers that teach there even send their kids to other schools. What does that tell ya? I have seen other county schools that are great, BUT after seeing the way the McMinn County School Board handles things, Im not so sure I want to put my children back in a county school system.
I've been involved with NES for years and as a whole they are the most unfriendly group of teachers, staff and adminstation I have ever seen. There are a handful of teachers, maybe 6, that are really great with the kids and it shows in ther personality. The atmosphere is dead, their appearance (inside and out) is ugly, the sports program is terrible (and no one cares), and most importantly, the t cap scores are lower than the state average!! Review the scores on this site...you'll see!! They need someone there that cares about the overall well being of the school.
In my opinion, this school is great! Both of my kids are doing so well here.
