I graduated from this high school, and yes, the school needs improvements; however, you have to have adaquate funding to do this! The school does the best with what it's fiscally provided, and the teachers love their students. My other classmates and I went on to 4-yr. colleges, vocational schools, etc. If a child wants to learn, this school is adaquate. However, there is not enough funding available for extra activities and modern technological advances. They're battling it out with OR city schools who receive all the math and science funding from ORAU and the likes. It's terribly unfair that a child has to fight so hard to obtain a rounded education at the school, but it's the teachers who make it worth it. The booster club does all it can to raise money for the school, and the sports programs are wonderful.

This school is horrible. Do not send your children here. The children aren't learning what is required by the state. The basketball teams are great. This school needs serious improvement.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Tennessee used the Gateway/End-of-Course (EOC) exams to test high school students in language arts, math, science, and social studies upon completion of relevant courses. Students must pass the algebra I, English II, and biology I tests, called the Gateway exams, in order to graduate. The Gateway/EOC exams are standards-based tests that measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of Tennessee. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
