This school used to be great but each year it gets worse. They are very inconsistent with how they do things such as punish kids and count someone as tardy. Certain kids get by with more based on who their parents are and others are quick to be punished based on behavior that happened years ago. The principal is almost never available and when she is she talks down to the parents and teachers. The coordinator is also very rude to the staff and seems to care more about posting selfies on the school Facebook page than anything else.
Most of the teachers are wonderful but a lot of great ones have left due to the administration and parents are pulling the kids out in high numbers and homeschooling or moving to other schools for the same reason.
The whole school feels very unwelcoming. Most schools welcome parent volunteers but this school makes you feel like you aren't wanted there which is very strange since most schools would love to have all the free help they could get.
The school says they are anti bully but when it actually happens if the kid being the bully is rarely punished and if it's brought up to the principal (assuming you can catch her at the school) you get the fake smile and head nod and that's the end of it. Thankfully the kids at the school are generally good kids so it's not a widespread issue.
This varies greatly by teacher. Some teachers think the kids just need more discipline and others understand that all kids are different and what works for one doesn't work for another.
Outside of the classroom there aren't any supports for kids who are different. Basically if they are disrupting the classroom the only option is to have them sit in the office.
