I went to SAS around the late 1990s. At that time, the school was very xenophobic and discriminatory againt foreign students. SAS did not like foreign studets hanging around together, or speak their native languages. They deprived the freedom of foreign students becoming friends with each other and the freedom to speak their native languages, and forced their value on foreign students. They even tried to separate the friendship between foreign students when foreign students were being friends with each other. SAS keeps saying that they will not harass students based on origins or races, but it is not true. The school was actually harassing foreign students and certain races! Also, the community was too small, and the atmosphere was too exclusive. Most of the reviews praising this school were made by white Americans. SAS could be a good school for white American students. However, it's not a good place for minorities, especially if you are not white, or are a foreigner who are not a native English speaker.

Went here for high school. Best four years of my life. Talking to my friends in college made me appreciate the experience I had at SAS even more. Amazing teachers and amazing setting. Very open and welcoming.

I have children in both the Upper and Middle School. Each night they come home and tell me how excited about what they are learning and how happy they are. In the mornings they bound out of bed ready for another day. They love their classes, the afternoon programs, and their classmates. It's great to know that each day they are surrounded by teachers and classmates who are invested in their success.

They will love it!

SAS does a great job of being a small school that meets the needs of a wide range of kids. My children have developed strong positive relationships with their teachers and their teachers know how to challenge them both in and out of the classroom. Their classmates value education and are headed places. I also appreciate that because the school is small, my kids can participate in a variety of activities - both the things they are already good at and the things they are just wanting to try.

We have had a very disappointing experience at this school. Some of the teacher are great, but some are lazy. There is no oversight and accountablilty for the teachers. There is definately some drug use among the students at the school, though it is difficult to tell how much since they are not obliged to make any information public. A public school with AP courses would be a much better option, especially considering the cost.
