This school provides an EXCELLENT education to the students that attend there. The atmosphere is wonderful and all of the kids get along well. Everyone behaves very well at Nolan. After recently moving here and my children attending different schools before Nolan, they will never attend another school if I can help it!

My son is in the CDC class (Special Ed). The kids at Nolan always include the CDC kids in all their activities, and have shown more love and acceptance than we could have ever hoped for. The teachers and support staff are great...we are so lucky to have this school for our son!

My son transferred to Nolan after attending K in a private school. Compared to the academic standards of Nolan, he was behind in 1st grade. It makes me angry to think I paid so much money for a private school education when we have such an outstanding community school practically in our back yard. The teachers have worked with him and with us to get him caught up and we are very pleased with their early intervention and recognition of children that need extra help. His teacher was Hamilton County Teacher of the Year a few years ago and many of the other teachers and administrators have been similarly recognized. This is a great school in a great community!

We moved from one side of the county to Signal Mountain because of the schools. Nolan is awesome nearly 100% PTA involvement, great teachers who care and a terrific principal. Our daughter loves the school.

I moved to Signal Mountain from Middle Georgia. Both my parents were career teachers so I'm aware of what makes a great school. Schools here have exceeded my expectations in every sense of the word. The teachers are incredible, dedicated, because of a shared commitment to excellence. The people of this community represent the best America has to offer. I thank God for guiding my decision to move here. The locals are totally unaware of how good they have it here. In my daughters class a child mashed a teacher s cupcake while she was outside supervising recess. This was considered a major event. Parents were called children questioned, etc. Coming from a school system that was immersed in drugs, violence, teenage pregnancy, etc. It's comforting that a mushed cupcake is a a big deal here. Glad to be here!

My older son attends Nolan (3rd grade) and loves it. I think that says a lot right there. My younger son will start Kindergarten next year, and can't wait to go. Nolan is a very special place - EVERYONE is dedicated to seeing that the kids are our first priority. Parental involvement is extremely high, the teachers and staff are experienced and patient, and the principal had been recognized as one of the best administrators in Tennessee (2004 finalist for TN principal of the year, and was named Outstanding Elementary Principal for the 1994-1995 school year by the Tennessee Congress of Parents and Teachers) The PTA funds extra programs like art and language studies that aren't funded by the county. Our TCAP scores are always well above average. Check out our website, created and maintained by parents (nolanpta.com).

Nolan is a great elementary school and is particularly strong in it's early k-3 teaching. The parents and community in general give a great deal of support to the school personally and financially so that the school is able to provide extra services/programs to its students. Check out their website at www.nolanpta.com for more details.
