Hancock middle school is the best! Especially 6th grade Science teacher Ms. Nichols. She is an excellent teacher and spends alot of time with students to insure equal education to all.

This school provided a great small town environment for my children. The classes are smaller and the students are offered more one on one time with the teachers. Academically they offer senior classmen the opportunity to take college courses during regular school hours, a program called duel enrollment. They recieve both high school and college crdits without ever leaving the campus. As far as sports, the basketball teams there are excellent and provide players with the disipline they will need later on if they pursue playing after high school. Money is not an issue at this school, you are treated the same if you are poor or rich. The principles there all have one thing in mind the success of the students.

The academic programs are way behind other schools. My children did not receive as good a quality of eduction as they could have. There are no music programs that I have ever heard of. The arts department is good but to religiously oriented. As far as sport I only can speak of what I saw. And the coaches are to harsh on the team. Winning is all important and not the lesson they should be getting. I very much enjoyed the plays, but it seems they dont have the room they need at the school for presentations. Parents involvement is asked for, but then parents are not listend to. Parents complain about improper treatment of there children by school employees and nothing is ever done. This is a school where only certain families have the benefits of.
