I am a graduate of FA and my children are also FA graduates. My children did well in college and have done well in their professional lives. Yes, we made sacrifices to keep them in private school, but their education was a priority. The faculty is the best -- they loved my children and gave them the opportunity to succeed and helped instill the drive to excel.
My school is Fayette Academy. They focus on students and results. The students are well mannered and respectful. They get a great education and what they need for college.
I have two children, one in Fayette the other graduated from there. The school has gone down hill with the new head master. The price is going up but the education is going down. My son received scholarships to a private collage and could not pass. He was not prepared for it.He was not the only one in his class who had trouble. We are thinking on sending our last child to a private school in Jackson. The school might not be there in ten years, It might not take that long. Enrollment is down below the operating budget.
I am proud to say that I am a graduate of FA. Even though I graduated many years ago I am so glad this private school has stayed in existance so long. Even back in my time I know that my class alone has several teachers (including myself), lawyer, vet, government officials, and very successful business people and we were not even a credited school back then. If I had lived where I could have sent my boys to FA I sure would have. It was good by years ago and now is great.
As a former student and a parent, I would not send my child to any public school in fayette county. I went to public schools for 7 years before i went to fayette academy. Trust me, if you can afford it, you must send you child there if you want them to have any chance of a future. I loved that school and i believe it loved me back.
This school is AMAZING! It is not a country/hick school, but does have the down home morals and support expected from a community school. The whole community supports this school. Staff is educated, strong, & up to date. It is not a breeze through school. Accredited & honors courses available! Dual credits even!! Extra curricular activities available for most ages. Staff tries to get to know and recognize all the kids by name...
I had three children graduate from this school. All three are very successful adults. Shouldn't that be the test for any school's success.
i used to go there and it was an ok school. better than any public school or private schools in memphis.
Two of my children started attending Fayette Academy at the beginning of the spring semester. We had been home schooling for a year and a half but had to make a change. My wife and I had concerns about starting in the middle of the school year. Would the teachers be able to get them up to speed? Would the students welcome them? All of our questions and concerns where answered very quickly. The teachers have been great, very encouraging and supportive doing whatever it took for our kids to get what they needed to catch up. The students made our kids feel at ease by welcoming them as if they d known them for years. I can t imagine our experience with Fayette Academy going any better. We are very grateful to all the people at Fayette Academy for calming the fears of two over protective parents and taking such good care of our kids.
Our family moved to Tennessee from Massachusetts where our children had attended kindergarten at a good public school. When we had them evaluated for entrance into 1st grade at Fayette Academy, we were told that they did not read well enough to move on. After our repeat year of kindergarten, I understand why! They had a huge list of words they could read and the phonics tools to learn even more. We couldn't be happier with the school. It is also quite affordable compared to other private schools in the area.
A wonderful learning environment. Academics and personal character growth are of the utmost concern. We had three children there for a total of 14 years. All three were able to receive substantial private college scholarships based on the academic preparedness Fayette Academy offered. I highly recommend this small but close knit school. The staff genuinely cares about every student.
