South Pittsburg Elementary is a wonderful school! The teachers are always willing to talk with me about my children's education. Parents are encouraged to become involved and take an active role in the school. My children are receiving an excellent education from a school I am proud to recommend and support.

I am new to the area and have been very satisfied with the education my children are receiving at SPES. This is an academic institution where learning, safety and fun are well integrated. Parental involvement is critical to any child's education. My recommendation for improvement is to see more parents involved at this school.

There is no better elementary school than SPES. It is a safe and exciting place to learn, and the faculty and staff and just great.

S.P.E.S. has been a extreme disappointment for my mentally challanged son. The principal has refused to work with me or my sons advocates. Although the school is named to have the best Specail Education progam, my son nor I, were never given the oppurtunity to find that out. In this school, The No Child Left Behind law, seems not to apply. Futhermore, as to parental involvement, it is not as encouraged as it appears to be. I had to make an appointment to talk with my child's teacher. She couldn't see me for two weeks. You have to pay to be part of the P.T.O., and are not informed about a meeting until the day before or the day of. That's what parental involvement means to this school.
