Spanish, art, computers, music, science (and I mean REAL science), reading, religion (open to all faiths), math, community involvement. St. John's students are involved in all of these starting in the pre-K programs. It is a school which focuses on the whole child and on each child, with teachers and administrators who are dedicated to challenging academics as well as creative learning.

I am constantly amazed at the quality of education my child receives at St. John's. Upper grades receive the extra attention and time that students in public school seem to miss out on. There are people of all faiths and backgrounds and if there was ever a better investment that I've made, it's this.

St. John's (SJES) has been in Abilene for 55 years and provides an excellent environment for children to develop a love of learning, not just the basics, but also the language of God's people. Equally important is that all are accepted, no matter what they (or their parents) believe. As we say at the end of each chapel service, 'you go to your house of worship and I'll go to mine, but we'll walk along together, thanks be to God.'

Small class size and caring teachers make for an awesome learning environment. St. John's has these qualities and more. All faiths attend here making it incredibly diverse. Even the open campus feel separates the school from the 'institutional' feel creating a home away from home environment. Truly and A+ school!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
