Well again, a 5 year old walking alone doesnt scream empathy to me, call me crazy but another method would be safer.

Unsure about this totally, however a 5 year old walking to school alone seems "unfair"

Just moved from Story Elem, the school year hasn't even started yet & I'm regretful. We are just finding out that Marion doesnt have buses? (3 days before school starts) Seriously? We have a 5 year old starting kindergarden. The choices were she walks or kids club. We live in Lost Creek, .7 mi away. For a 5 year old? Alone? Through that labyrinth neighborhood? I am furious. So we call kids club, I guess we have no choice, oh wait, our daughter is number 30 on the waiting list, but they were nice enough to offer us a list of daycares. She doesnt need daycare, she needs a bus!! We have a child in highschool that will beat her home, but not enough to get her from school or drop her off. Here's an idea Allen ISD instead of a 60 million football stadium, how about a 55 million dollar stadium that doesnt fall apart and about 6 buses? Sounds like a better buy to me. Missing Story already :(

A group of children from Marion just won 1st place in a Global Destination Imagination competition. That alone speaks volumes about the education they are receiving here.

This school is amazing! Mrs. Walker has every child's best interest at heart and she truly tries to get to know each one of her 800 students! Loooooove Marion!

The few people that rated the school are clearly parents who have never had kids at Marion. The school is renoun for their education program and testing scores. The administration and staff are outstanding. Very happy with this wonderful school.

This school is amazing. I wouldn't consider private school with my K-6 experience. Teachers and leadership are awesome, and I can't say enough about the front office staff.

Administrative staff should not be working with young children. They are unprofessional and do not respect children or parents. We have tried talking to them about our concerns and nothing gets resolved. Would not recommend this school due to the admin staff. We will be moving just so our child can go to a different school.

Our sons teacher is great this year, first one ever. The principal has to be one of the worst I have ever had to talk too. Stay clear of this school if you can.

Worst school ever stay clear. The admin staff is probably the worst we have ever had to deal with. Very unresponsive, stay away if you can.

There is absolutely no reason this school deserves a "10" rating. The previous review is spot on. We are in our second year here and my daughter HATES it. They have a lot of "policies" on paper that make them look good but when it comes to action, this school is awful. You will not get a warm fuzzy feeling at this school and unless you're a room parent, do not expect to be part of your child's education. I can't wait to be out of this school.

As with most things, there is always room for improvement at Marion, especially when it comes to diversity of the administration and the faculty. There are very few people of color within administration, which is true for all of AISD schools, as well as few teachers of color. Marion and Allen ISD need to diversify by recruiting highly qualified administrators and teachers of color.

I have three kids who have and are attending Marion Elementary. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else! The school is very clean, the teachers and staff are awesome and the school is part of the community on many levels. Go Mavericks!

I feel the same, my child loves Marion. The principals, administrative staff, teachers and other staff members are all great leaders for our children. The after school program rocks too. Thanks Marion!

I have been very happy with Marion Elementary. The teachers really care about their students. The administrative staff is incredible. I could not ask for a better place for my child to start her education.

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
