Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Not enough time or space to describe the disappointment for this school & staff. Terrible school if you can afford or manage please send your child/ren elsewhere.

This principal is one who truly cares about the students, teachers and everyone who works at Jeter.

I was a little worried sending my student to public school for his first year. His pre-k teacher has been absolutely wonderful!!! She stays in constant contact with me and I have seen my son grow tremendously in her class. Thank you Ms. Davis. Keep up the good work.

My child has previously attended this school and it was awsome. Her 4th grade teacher Miss.Masi was amazing. All of the activites that they have their are much better than the current school she is attending in Maryland.

As a former PTO participant, I have to say that Jeter is not as bad as some would like you to believe. Currently, there is no PTO but that is not for the lack of effort by both the staff and the previous PTO. Jeter offers so much and accommodates those who have special needs; bilingual, resource and GT. I have had great results for both my children, one still at Jeter and another that has moved on to Middle school in the MAP program.

We are new to this school and I am somewhat disappointed that there is not more parental involvement (no PTO). However my son actually likes going to school this year and he really likes the teachers. I think Jeter is a great school and you only get out of it what you are willing to put in. I am very happy for my son to go to school here.

Great School!! The teachers work so hard to meet all the children's needs. When other schools are quick to Sp. Ed. students Don Jeter Staff finds the puzzle piece that fits to have academic success. My children now make the honor roll. Thanks you D. J. staff!!!

You need to be incredibly involved and ask many questions. The members of the community are disenfranchised by the district.

Not enough room here for my words. Student safety is a big issue here, big curriculum problem is on the district level, leadership deserves a '0' not a '1',teacher-parent communication is near zilch, unsafe pickup and drop-off.

I have had so many problems with this school. I called one day to check if my son was still in school because his bus didn't drop him off, so I asked the lady and she told me he wasn't there. So then I call to the bus and they tell me he never got on the bus. Then I end up calling the school again and they tell me that he is there that hes been there all along. I was worried to death. Not the mention the new teachers they have are the worst. I hate this school and would definitely not recommend it. I can go on and on about all the different problems I've been having with this school.

My daughter transferred to Don Jeter from another district. I have never been so disappointed in all my life. I thought Alief had the worst schools but Don Jeter takes the cake. The administrators do not even bother looking at a child's record when placing a child and the teacher in whose class my child was placed does absolutely NOTHING to challenge my child and does not care one way or the other. It is sad that my tax dollars support this school but I have to send my child to private school for her to receive a high quality education.

Jeter Elementary is an exceptional school. I love the education my child receives. I adore his teacher as well as the assistant principal they are both very approachable. I have yet to receive any complaints from my child, which says a lot (can bit a bit annoyed with curriculum). I definitely recommend Jeter.
