High Point Preparatory Academy

This will be my son's 3rd year at HPPA. He loves it and thinks it is the best school ever. I believe the way he feels about the school says a lot, and it helps me to feel confident in him attending. He started HPPA in 3rd grade, and we both look forward to him staying on until he graduates. This school is not perfect, but I know the staff centers on teaching our children God's word while educating them. In addition, the faculty is very caring. HPPA has a challenging academic program, and my son does not get bored. He is striving academically!

This school is a joke. Bullying is a huge issue. The elementary part of High Point is great but junior high and high school is something I wouldn't recommended. I personally have witnessed bullying and seen nothing done about it. Do not waste your money or time putting you're child in an environment such as this.

My child will be graduating this year and has attended High Point Prep. for 9 yrs. Though many changes have occurred, it has been to make the school better. I know the teachers and staff really care about my child. They spend time in the mornings seeking God's guidance for the training of my child, during their morning devotions. For that I am truly thankful. After graduation this school will always be an important part of the things that made a difference and molded her life.

Both of my kids go to high point and I am so thankful for the Christ-centered education. The teachers and administration really care about the kids. My boys look forward to going to school everyday. I definitely recommend High Point Preparatory Academy!

My son has been going to High Point Prep for two years and to be open with you they saved my son's education. He went to public school all the way up until the second grade and then we made the decision to try High Point. The main difference I said was teachers that REALLY wanting to see students be successful and going the extra mile. I don't plan on leaving the private school setting, it's been a blessing!

My son has been attending High Point Preparatory Academy since Kindergarten. He is now in 6 th Grade. The school is like family to him. He has grown so much over the years thanks to the caring teachers, Headmaster, and the wonderful staff. As a parent, this was apparent on the support we got from the school staff when my son had surgery during last school year. The outpouring support and love from the staff and his classmates were amazing. He loves the school and looking forward to learn every day.

My child began his education with HPPA when he was in K5 and now is in Jr. High. He is very happy here and as parents we have been very satisfied with the Christian education he has received. Every school has challenges and HPPA is no exception but I believe this is going to be the best year ever. Thank you HPPA for providing a great Christian education for my son.

I love my school! Its the best! Where not just a school we are a family. Im in high school and couldnt ask for better people to be surrounded with. My teachers are wonderful! If i could pick any school to go to I would chose High Point. :) Plus our head master is amazing, Hes the bomb!.. :)

I have been associated with HPPA for several years and with Christian schools for many years. There is no perfect school; every school has it pluses and minuses. Due to unfortunate circumstances, HPPA has had its challenges, just like any other school. With our new leadership in place, our school is ready to move forward to provide an excellent product for our students and parents. The past is the past; let's look to the future!

When reviewing a school the whole picture is what is important. High Point is staffed by teachers who care about the students academic performance and relationship with God. It's athletics program is competitive in all sports (Football state FTW). Its academics are reviewed frequently and improved where needed to insure a quality education that challenges and prepares the students for their calling in life. Small class sizes offer better communciation and guidance from teachers who LOVE (I'm gonna say it again-LOVE - all caps!!) the students. Its new headmaster is been in education leadership for decades (in other words he knows what he is doing) When selecting a school please bring it to the Lord and pray for the right school. Call the school. Tour it. Meet the teachers. Please do not let the one star reviews below be the deciding factor. Maybe someone had a concern and maybe it was with somone who isn't even there anymore. Maybe it was legitimate, but cmon. With all the positive at the school did it in anyway warrant giving a one star review? With all do respect no it did not. I wrote all this because of how much I LOVE (Dude I love that word!) this school and its students.

The school is in the position that it is in because of the control that the church has over it. The school is financing the church!!! Parents just know that any money that you pay out to High Point Prep is not actually being allocated for what you are allocating it for. Afterall, has the church or the school ever had a business meeting to show what the finances are going towards? ijs! It does not matter who is the the front office, who in the classroom or who has the title of Headmaster, as long as the church has full control over the finances, students will probably go without more than books in the next year or so.

The headmaster isa joke. Very unprofessional, quit many times. She is not qualifies to do her job and definitely does not have the education to back it. Students go weeks without books. High admin/teacher turnover rate. I would save my money and send my child to a prestigious school.

My daughter is in one of the Kindergarten classes and I could not be happier with the class size, teacher and how she has progressed this year. She is reading at an advanced first grade level (which can be attributed to the teacher and my husband and I helping her read nightly), she can do simple mathematics (addition and subtraction), and her self-confidence has increased. My husbands and my goal is to keep her in this school as long as financially possible. Administrators do not make or break a school, it is the dedicated teachers that influence the children and the learning environment.

To take a one year teacher with a business degree and make her a principal who later becomes the head master over the school is a joke. What's even more of a joke is for her to sit in a classroom and critique a 30 year veteran teacher. If you are looking for a school that is incompetently run and misleads families constantly, then this is your school. If you want a school that actually functions like a school and has qualified administration, keep looking.

I hate this school. i always feel left out. there are to many clicks and things. i cant wait to get home sometimes.

When considering a good school, ask lots of questions, ask to see the evidence of what is said about the school by school officials, ask for financial reports, evidence of open communication, ask to speak with teachers about their experiences with administration, ask how the school complies with accreditation standards, ask for a copy of the standards and evidence that supports it. Ask how the school stays accountable to parents and others. Ask to see reports about the percentage of students passing accountability measures. Ask to see evidence that they meet the instructional needs of diverse learners and that instruction is active and not passive. Seek a school that promotes open inquiry among students and not a military style of leadership. Seek a school that appreciates diverse learning styles. Most of all ask about being able to visit the classrooms as a guest visitor. You have a right to seek a great school and to see independent evidence. (cont.)

(cont). The school may have certified teachers but does the school leadership have Principal Certification or School Administrator Certification? You wouldn't expect a foot doctor to operate on the brain or vice versa. So don't expect someone with manager's experience in the corporate world to know how to be a school administrator. The knowledge base is not the same. To be a certified school administrator you have to have pedagogical knowledge and an understanding of best instructional practices along with a host of other specialized knowledge. Being a manager in a corporation is NOT the same thing as being a school principal or administrator in a school. If you expect to pay big money for a school that has certified teachers, then you certainly should expect the leader of the school to be a certified principal. If not then this individual should be getting certified as a school administrator.

This is the worst school in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area!!!! Do not even for a second take your child to this school. They are not receiving an education. You will be throwing your money down the toilet. For those of you that have your child/ren enrolled at this school....RUN!!!!! If you love your child/ren you would remove them immediately!!!!!
