My child just enrolled into Short, and is very pleased. The teachers are concerned about the children and their studies. I want the best for my childs education and am glad to be a part of Short Elementry.

I have an 18 year old daughter that attended Short kindergarten to 6th grade and it was a wonderful experience. Now I have a 4 year old who is starting the Short Pre-K program and we could not be more proud to be able to do this!

Harrell and she has been nothing but awesome! she is very interactive with us, and lets us know how it is that we can help my son at home. He has improved 100% and i'd like to that her for all her efford in helping us. Thank you mrs. Harrell! :-)

This is by far the best school I have ever had experience at. The principal is amazing and the teachers. My son had Mrs. Ford and my nephew had Mrs. Hathaway, amazing women! We bought a house and moved last year and I have regretted it every since. I have a challenging child, some would say, but at Short they made us feel loved and welcomed. I don't know about all of the teachers or anyone else's experience, but from mine its a 10! I am actually trying to find a way back in to this school. If your considering enrolling your child...do it! If your child is in 1st, you should ask for Mrs. Ford, she's the best!

We have been at Short for 3 years, and overall it is a great school. The principal, Ms. McCollum is amazing. I can't imagine a better principal who loves the kids and staff. A good school starts from the top down. Short has excellent, dedicated teachers in our experience. They really care about the students and in my experience listen to the parents for ways to work with each child's learning style. My kids love music, art, and PE. They have incredible teachers for all three of these subjects and the school places an emphasis on music and art. Parent involvement could be much better. There are lots of volunteers for field trips, but when it comes to PTA and other areas, it is very difficult to get enough help. You see the same parents over and over helping. We are proud that our kids go here.

The school is fine, for some, not us. We can't seem to get the teachers to listen to constructive ways for our children who learn differently, to succeed. The curriculum tends to favor the slower learning children and extra projects and advanced learning alternatives have never been available on a 'real' level. Orchestra instructor is Excellent! Lots of turnover in the office which seems to set a confusing example for my family. We're moving out of AISD.

Challenging honors classes with teachers that care about student's performance and communicate well with the parents. Not experienced with any extracurricular activities. Music is a regular course, choir is available starting 4th grade. Teachers are open to parent involvement and the school has a good spirit. Children feel a connection to the teachers & to the Principal & Asst. Principal. I've had a very satisfying experience with my children attending this school.

I Love Short Elementary! It has been a part of my familys lives for over 6 years now. In fact my daughters father went to the school years ago. The education is excellent, and the teachers are also. I wouldn't want my girls to go anywhere else!
