great school couldnt be better!! teachers are very coprative and i would never send my children smewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We moved from another school district last year and we were very impressed with the teachers and curriculum at this school.
I used to be a student there and disagree with most of the comments about that school. I went there three years ago, it might have changed but not as drastically as many of the comments make it seem. I didn't love the school but it wasn't that bad. Also, the teachers I had would always call the student's parents if they were misbehaving or if they were getting bad grades. I do not know if it has changed extensively since I was there but it was a decent school that offered a decent amount of extracurriculars and activities for the students. The teachers were also generally knew what they were doing and were intelligent enough to be doing their job. Of course, I might of just gotten lucky with the teachers I had since not all of us have the same teachers.
My daughter just started junior high this year after being in another area last year. I was a little concerned of how she would adjust, being that she's in a new area and wouldn't know anyone from elementary from the past year. That wasn't a problem for her at Young. She found friends easily and loves the extracurricular activities offered at Young. The classes she is taking seem well structure and challenging. The junior high she would've been attending didn't offer the scope of classes here at Young such as an array of different language classes. She wakes up everyday looking forward to going to school which is a great thing for a parent to see. Young has been a great experience so far.
I was a former student here not too long ago. And I have to say, I absolutely hated it. I actually begged my parents to let me go to school in my home country. The Teachers are there for the pay and hate talking with parents, Curriculum is Horriffic, and the leadership (if any) had a thick wall that kept students and Parents out and in the dark. Emails went unanswered until we complained to the district. Disiplinary procedures were appaling. One student with innaproriate behavior was constantly being sent to the office for this yet, the ap was rejecting parents complaints and kept the student. several female students started a petition to send to the superintendent to get the boy expelled. When the AP found out, The Girls were suspended. And people who signed (including me) got Detention or OCS. My advice, avoid this school at all cost.
This school is awful im a student here and i find the teachers mean and aggressive very aggressive!!! if they want to gain our trust they need to be nice and threaten us we're just kids!!!!!
I am not overjoyed with this school to say the least. I find the lack of communication appauling between the staff at Young and the parents. My daughter is a 504 student and I find the lack of concern for her educational needs quite upsetting. The teachers were instructed where she was to sit in each classroom but instead of going by what was told to them they went by what she wanted. The teachers do not seem to go out of their way to keep the parents informed when they notice a problem arising with dropping grades but alow us to wait for a progress report to be given to us if we are lucky enough to get it or find it. We as parents aren't even asked to sign the progress reports or report cards and have them brought back in showing we have even seen them.
The school is amazing! The staff is excellent! They taught my 4 kids all they needed to know!
This school is the best my son has ever gone to. He has gotten such a better education here than where he did go to school. He loves it and the teachers are very strict and amazing. There coaches are extremely hard and work you tell you puke and the staff is amazing!
This is my second child that has to go through Young Jr. High. My first child is an exceptional student and even her experience there was negative. My second child has learning disabilities, and is struggling right now in the 7th grade. He is in the 504 program and my husband and I have met with the teachers as well as the office staff on several occasions to see what we can do to move my child in the right direction academically and I was discouraged at the lack of positive attitudes and willingness to work with a child with problems. As a parent, I felt beaten down. I can just imagine how my child feels having to go there every day. All the teachers did in the last meeting was state how they all have too many students. How sad for all of us!
