I definitely think ACA is one of the best schools in the area, if not the best.
ACA is definitely an accelerated program. Your child does have to keep up or be left behind however there are opportunities for tutoring in the school. The curriculum is much more varied than the public school which my kids came from. All grades are taught Spanish ,World History, Science, and a grade level above in Math. There are also a lot of after school activities available. This is definitely an academically challenging school and not for students with learning difficulties. It was a great alternative to my daughter having to skip ahead a grade in her public school in order to not be bored. I am so happy to find a school which challenges her without costing me a fortune or putting her with older kids. This school was a Godsend to us.
ACA has a strong curriculum. ACA does not encourage parents who have children who may have learning differences to attend their school. B/C they are a charter school, they are bound by law to educate any and every child without discriminating. They really want the best of the best, which makes the teachers jobs easier. Not every child is the same. I recommend the school, do not be discouraged if you are told that your child will not be successful in their environment, just challenge the staff to help you make them successful. My child did not like the school initially, b/c he came from a non structured environment to a 'military' style of discipline. He now likes the school and is adjusting well after only 1 month.
Excellent. My son was there last year for kindergarten and is now head and shoulders above kids who are even in expensive private schools. Lots of parent involvement. I enjoyed everyone I dealt with there. This year we are joining the chess club. That tells you how enriched an environment it is for a first grader.
aca is a wonderful school you wont belive what your childern will learn in k by the end of the year they are reading the teacher a great and realy work with the students muisce and spanish from k thur 6th they learn to read misic from k and spanish from k parents can be as involted as they want to be its like one big family they have family nights once a mo dancing scaveger huts i hated to leave left only because daughter is going to 7th gr
The school was a disappointment. Asking all children to learn math a year ahead is unreasonable. The demands of homework is taxing on the children. The schools name states that it provides a classical education, unfortunately there is no Latin or Greek. I do not recommend this school
Our daughter just started two weeks ago (transferred from an AISD school) and we can already see the improvement in the intellectual challenge and stimulation for her. This school demands that all students 'keep up' and does not move at the pace of the slowest learner in the room ( a hallmark of most public schools). We are very pleased with the rate of instruction and the commitment of the faculty towards the school's stated mission of a quality, liberal arts education.
Arlington Classics Academy has a great staff but I think they need a more structured curriculum.
Arlington Classics is a very good school that I recommend to every parent. great curriculum.
We are on the waiting list and are eager to get in there for the exceptional education they offer. The curriculim they use is outstanding.
Great school, caring teachers, oppotunities for active parent involvement, family environment...all this in an intimate personable setting. Highly reccommeded for any child who needs a challenging and stimulating learning environment.
This is a good school depending on the grade level. Our son was there only for the 4th grade. It was very demanding and we didn't like the teachers very much. Your kids are in school all day and then go home to 3-4 hours of homework.
This school has low student to teacher ratios and really encourages academic excellence. There is an emphasis on culture and the arts too.
This school is magnificent!!! I enrolled my daughter in ACA 3 years ago, after she had been in private schools and 1/2 year at public school. The best description of ACA is that it offers all the advantages of private school: low student to teacher ratio, family atmosphere, individual attention, enrichment by extension of lessons, portfolios, parent teacher conferences quarterly, excellent educators, achallenging curriculum that keeps students engaged and excited about thier day and many more advantages too numerous to name. The secretary is very personable and shows such kidness and care towards the students, which is a great way for any child to start their day. This school is the best!!! I only have one complaint it's only Pre K-6th grade and my daughter is 6th grade. Boy are we going to miss it! I am confident that she is prepared for secondary school and beyond.
This is our 4th yr at ACA and it is the best! The teachers truly care about the students and it shows. My child is receiving a high quality, well-rounded education. It gives a parent a warm feeling when you know your child is getting a good education and when you ask how their day was as school, the response is 'great'. If you are looking for diversification, quality, caring, leadership and all-around excellence in education for your child, stop looking. ACA is the place.
This charter school is only a few years old and already exceeds the local public schools. ACA cares about the academic success of every child. They bring in tutors (at their expense) if children need it. You CAN NOT get a better education for your child in a public school. Come see for yourself!
I love this school because it gives a private school education at a public school price. The school is constantly learning and growing.
