My first experience at Bedichek was during band tryouts this past spring. The teachers seemed capable, the students were friendly and answered questions about activities in an informative manner. I hope the whole Bedichek experience goes that well. Can anyone update me on the "uniforms" situation? What is the dress code? Marge Wood, grandmother

bedichek has changed al lot, it's horrible! The school is run more from uniforms then actual work! Teacher have to constantly stop class to send kids to portable. EVERYTHING you do they make it related to 'gangs'. The color blue or red, mohawks, the rosery from church, ecy. 8th graders wear all black and it's comepletely depressing. I know some who eas taken out of school the entire day because she didn't have the right shoes and her mom couldn't bring her new ones. They took her education away for SHOES.

As a former student at Bedichek, it has all come full circle and my 2 children attend there now. I couldn't be more proud of any school then I am Bedichek! I was so apprehensive when it was time to transition from elementary school to middle school, the entire staff at Bedichek have been wonderful to my children for almost 3 years now. I'm going to be very sad when my 8th grade son goes into high school and has to leave behind the great teachers & staff -- especially the Band teachers! What a great group of Band instructors. This school really cares about their students & I'm blessed to have them in my kids lives!

I cannot wait for our last child to be out of this school as she is in 8th grade. Every organization she is in is very unorganized and waits until the last minute to announce any events for parents to be able to plan accordingly. Not a feel-good school for parents that care.

When my child first came here he really enjoyed it - the teachers were nice and worked well with him... Unfortunately, within the last year it has become difficult to say the least. There are some students there that are not making the right choices on a regular basis, not caring about grades, etc. and then there are some that are simply making the normal mistakes that an adolecent will do. Unfortunately, the administration is so overwhelmed that they are grouping the kids that want to do better with the ones that don't care and are breaking them down day by day.

The school's population has changed a lot from 20 years ago when I had my first group of adopted children pass through the school. Most of the kids are sweet, polite and hard working. But, a minority could not care less about being in school. Mrs. Belcher is swift and sure with enforcement and encouragement. Most of the teachers try their best with what they have to work with in their classes. Parents could help the atmosphere.
