Have 3 girls...1st/3rd/6th....school is so important. Have a swimmer as well. Looking for all good schools since my oldest will go to high school. We are sort of over renovating and want new....but love a lot of action going on! Help! There are a lot of good school districts.

Left out one very well-regarded private school - Kirby Hall. High academics and - from what I've heard from a few other parents - a supportive atmosphere.

Eanes has good schools, but can be isolating as a community. Parts of RRISD have really great schools, including IB World schools starting in elementary school. Laurel Mountain & Spicewood Elementaries are excellent, as is Grisham and Canyon Vista Middle Schools. Westwood H.S. is the IB World school (only one so far) in RRISD, so it is filled with a lot of talented kids who do well academically. All of these schools have good arrays of fine arts and extracurriculars as well. Austin ISD is also really investing in the development of a number of IBWorld schools beginning at elementary. I think the total is 7 now. A couple of private schools also offer good alternatives. I understand that St. Francis in North Austin and Trinity in West Austin are very good. Magellan Int'l is IB World certified and is a Spanish immersion program for true dual-language. Austin Int'l has a tri-lingual program but could push for a lot more advanced academics than it currently does.

NO it well...as that is where my husband and I started out (actually Delray Beach) so we have many friends there. Funny. Yes...I am headed out soon and will probably be making the move in march. Good Luck! I am looking in the same areas.

Funny- I'm in the same boat-have 2 girls grades 3 and 5- and relocating from Boca Raton. I've been researching this for months and it looks like Eanes is the best overall - by far- all exemplary schools- followed by Lake Travis, Leander and I know Round Rock has decent schools too. I am going in March to check it out.
